OfficialFFL YouTube channel

I'm guessing this really is a channel made by the guys from the foofighterslive website, if so, I recommend everyone to follow this channel because my guess is that they will upload some cool quality videos.. It already has a video of 'Let it die' live from some Harley Davison event.
Rock on!

PD: Simon, please confirm, and if I'm right, please start uploading some cool stuff, let's have some fun!

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Simon's FFL

Yeah, I wouldn't want my HQ films up on HQ by youtube's standards.

btw, it isn't Simon's channel, he said that a few times already.

Ok thanks for the info. I had to ask because it said "The only official youtube channel of www.foofighterslive.com", and it's a pretty new channel.

PD: 1080p isn't enough HD? I think it is.

What's the name of the channel?

Edit: I think he means this one http://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialFFL

Not the other one.

that channel is from someone called Diego it appears.
I asked Simon if he owned it when someone linked a video from that channel, he said he had nothing to do with it. and it makes sense since there's lots of stretched videos do fit the wide screen format, something he despised with a huge passion in the past, wouldn't think he would do it himself.

This channel is indeed the official one for our site. Any other, including the 'FooFightersLive' one is not. Don't expect to see tons of video on it though, it wasn't really created for that purpose. I may put the odd video up on there that isn't already on youtube somewhere, but that isn't much. We may also use it for previews of upcoming torrents of any new footage we may get.

Also just to clear up any misconceptions, I don't really mind videos on youtube at youtube quality, they're not 'my' videos after all and it's a good way for people to see them. The beef I have is people who ruin videos before they upload them, either stretching them to an improper aspect ratio or re-encoding them to make youtube think they're 'HD' when they're anything but.

By the way MADNESS, I worked out that 'FooFightersLive' and 'FooFightersHD' are both GerarldoJpr. I don't like what he does but again, nothing I can do about it.

Wrong. only geraldojpr2009 and foofightershd are mine, btw
My only purpose is share videos by youtube, a lot of people ask me to go on, the most of them doesn't download of dvds by torrents, etc. Anyway, they want to see some videos at youtube (since rare stuff till HD). If you don't like, ignore, it's so easy. Let the people that don't have a lot of shows enjoy the videos.

Ok, foofighterslive is probably Diego then as I originally though.

As I said, I have no problem with the stuff being on youtube. If you weren't uploading them, someone else would be. My problem is that you stretch 4:3 material to 16:9, and you must also do some re-encoding fo stuff to make youtube think it's HD.

As an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgrWwVGR5Pk

That comes from a 4:3 standard definition broadcast in 1997, and is sourced from a VHS. So why stretch it to 16:9 and re-encode to a HD resolution? Just upload them in the original format.

I understand your beef with that, but it doesn't really bug me all that much. Even on my TV, I have the 4:3 channels set to fill the 16:9 space just because the black bars annoy me more than the stretch. I know I am probably in the minority here. Also, I use a netbook as my main computer, so HD video is always a tough hurdle...it just doesn't have the power to do it very well.

Video quality of Youtube be damned...I just love seeing more and more Foo videos!

yeah, that would make sense since Diego's other videos outside of Foo stuff uses the same title format for them. I wouldn't be surprised if calling it "Foo Fighters Live" was just a coincidence, after all they're all FF live videos, but since he denied when you asked about it - even with same title formats and all - he was maybe trying to attract some attention from people familiar with FFL.

I don't want to be unfair, so I'm not saying these as proven facts, it's just a few clues that work well together, making it hard to think about something else.

anyways, Geraldo has a nice library there, some videos would benefit from a correct fomated upload.
