Chevy Metal in Sydney 29/8

https://www.frontiertouring.com/chevymetal

Each transaction will be limited to one (1) ticket per person, and each person wishing to attend the show must physically be at the venue at the time of purchase to be issued a wristband & ticket for entry.

The wristband will be attached to the purchaser at the time of the transaction and to gain entry they must wear the wristband and present their ticket for scanning to get access.

Formed by Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters, The Birds of Satan) more than a decade ago, the Chevy Metal line-up for tonight’s exclusive show includes Dave Grohl, alongside Chevy Metal founding member Wiley Hodgen (The Birds of Satan) and Brent Woods (Sebastian Bach) who have generously come to Australia exclusively for this show.

Taylor and Dave are in town to promote Foo Fighters’ upcoming ninth studio album Concrete and Gold, out Friday 15 September via Sony Music Australia. Pre-order your copy here.

If history is anything to go by, tonight will see the band racing through a hit-filled setlist including the likes of Van Halen, Queen, Billy Joel, AC/DC, The Police and The Rolling Stones to name just a few.

I made it! I almost didn't when the venue hit capacity for public tickets before sales even started (if my train had come in five minutes earlier, I might've been good for that), but then came a Hail Mary pass and I was in. What. A. Show. I could barely hear Wiley and Brent's mics from down the front but the vibe in the entire room was super sweet and the stage banter was top-shelf. I also scored a setlist and one of DG's picks, as if I wasn't already having one of the luckiest days of all days.

I was right in front of Dave and now another thing we have in common is that we're both deaf in one ear. (Dave in his left, me in my right...between us, we'd have a working set! )

I didn't think the Roxy Pro ninja gig could be beat but that was pretty special. Everyone was pumped, there was so much interaction down the front, the setlist was faultless, and the guys themselves seemed like they were having a brilliant time. Every man and his dog wanted to get in that night...there were still lines of hopeful punters hoping to get on the waitlist right up until the doors opened. Getting booped on the snoot by Dave's guitar head wasn't exactly on my bucket list but i'll gladly accept it!

The only thing that was a bit meh was that only about half of those tickets went to the public/the fans - the second level was filled with industry execs who looked like they couldn't have cared less where they were or who was playing. But stuff 'em, we on the floor were making enough racket for everybody :)

Great to hear! So you was it one of the new DG picks that say Concrete or Gold?

Nah, he was still using the old black SH/DG606 picks. There must be tons of those left over and as this was a side gig, it makes sense to get rid of some of those.
