Is the song The Sky Is A Neighborhood Disclosure?

This song and video seem to have a variety of ET and Solar Flash EMP references. What was Foo Fighters inspiration for writing this tune? What was the inspiration for the storyline of the video?

1. What's "Disclosure"?

2. The song's meaning depends on who you ask, but Dave put his own meaning up before the album came out...

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/fe...-video-w499153

"Dave Grohl is in a metaphysical mood. The musician, who directed the video for the group's latest single, "The Sky Is a Neighborhood," says that he was inspired by an unlikely musical source: Neil DeGrasse Tyson. In 2012, after Time magazine asked the astrophysicist, "What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the universe?," one YouTube user set his deep, wide-ranging answer to music – and Grohl was hooked.

"It basically talks about the atoms that comprise life on Earth and make up the human body are traceable to the beginnings of our universe," the Foo Fighters frontman tells Rolling Stone. "Stars that go unstable and collapse and explode and just scatter their guts, their fundamental ingredients of life are all over the universe and forming solar systems and stars orbiting planets have the ingredients for life itself. And when you look up at the night sky, you realize that you're not only part of the universe, but the universe is part of us. It really moves me.""

Some have also speculated that it might partly be a tribute to the rock musicians we lost in 2016 (ie, Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, etc.) and how they're now up in the sky raising havoc, so to speak.

Dave also said this, which relates the song more directly to aliens/UFOs/etc

Quote:

“One night I was lying out looking up at stars. Just imagining all of these stars as places that have life on them as well, and I decided that the sky is a neighborhood, that we need to keep our shit together in order to survive in this universe full of life
I like to think that the line "the sky is a neighbourhood, so keep it down" refers to the argument that we really shouldn't be sending probes/signals into space, because we don't know if life out there is friendly and we may not want to advertise our presence, just in case. But maybe that's just me :D

I think it's about the fact God doesn't exist, but that's just my interpretation.

By the way, whatever you are smoking, you should take a break from it.

to me... -
it seems about all our favorite artists that have passed away and SOME, (MANY MANY MANY) that have unnecessarily passed away due to OD on drugs, and/or depression and/or mental illness.

so how do we comfort ourselves but to say

the sky is a neighborhood.....oh my dear heaven is a bang now...keep it down!
(so we are hoping they are rocking on in some other stratosphere!!)

I often wonder why we have these brilliant gifted artisits with all the money in the world and they cant seem to use this money to educate themselves for how to keep from becoming just another statistic or to get good mental healthcare that helps them get better at taking care of themselves and their families.

the heavenly neighborhood getting pretty over crowded with such gifted souls:(
