Dave should put Foo on hiatus in favor of a Nirvana reunion.

Dave is one of my favorite drummers ever, but admittedly, I don't see Dave's true talents being maximized in Foo. In a nutshell, give me another opportunity to see last year's SoCal show with John McCauley on vocals before affording me the opportunity to witness Dave covering 'Molly's Lips' again, any day of the week (if you know what I mean).

Are the majority of y'all die-hard Nirvana fans that have a "something is better than nothing" mentality, but deep down believe that Dave is allowing his God given talents to go by the wayside? I can't help but get angry at times watching him shelf his true talents the way that he does.

No harm meant, but I'm a major die-hard Nirvana fan, and I think Dave is easily in the top 3 drummers of all time. I just want to see him sharing his greatness with the world again!

No offense meant with this question, but are most of y'all female? If so, I could understand how Foo might have appeal to the soccer moms that are toting around the kids in the car, or the one time soccer moms that are now middle aged or older. But outside of these scenarios, head-to-head, Nirvana pawns anything that Foo has ever done a million times over. Kurt was a genius poet who could write a melody like it was nobody's business. Dave keeps regurgitating the safe, predictable, corporate, dad rock.

No hate. The man is one of the greatest drummers ever. Just being real, ya'll.

No offence meant, but are you a bit of a douchebag?

If you don't like Foo Fighters and are just here to talk shit, you're in the wrong place.

Wtf? Seriously? Also, there is no Nirvana without Kurt. Get over it. Stop living in the past.

Hey April. Sorry if I was out of line with my "middle-aged soccer mom" comment. I didn't mean any harm by it. In all seriousness, that's what I always considered Foo's main demographic to be. It's safe, poppy, and you always know what you're going to get with a Foo song. To me, the predictability of that sounds like something a soccer mom would enjoy. With that said, I do remember liking Everlong and 1 or 2 other songs from a long time ago. Overall, I remember thinking there were more stinkers than memorable songs, but I think Dave is easily one of the greatest drummers of all time. And you can never take away what the man did behind the kit while in Nirvana. Marigold is my fave Dave song.

Haven't seen posts like this from Nirvana 'fans' in years. You're a dying breed. Must be new to Nirvana too, I'm guessing.

Hmmmm.....

Yes, Dave is an incredible drummer, but Kurt sadly passed away in 1994 and, as April said, Nirvana went with him. Dave is now the front man of another band I’m afraid. They’ve been around for 25 years now, if you’re not a fan then you have the choice not to listen to them.

If he ever decided to tour ‘Nirvana’ then good for you, but I personally think he has much more respect for them than that.

Careful with this guy, he's an antique.

Right guys. Cos if someone prefers a legendary band like Nirvana over some some sub-par, predictable, dad rock, that must mean that they're either a very young or very old Nirvana fan. Here's a thought .. maybe I'm just not a middle-aged soccer mom, or a guy who spends his time chasing middle aged soccer moms.

Hey cuz, I'm not here to argue the obvious like Kurt's been gone for 25 years, or that Dave has been in another band for nearly the same amount of time. Also, I get that Nirvana pretty much did die with Kurt, but I don't see why they couldn't go out on tour with John or some others and pay tribute to those songs. It's not like Dave is actually reinventing the wheel with anything that he's doing these days in Foo, so why not shelf it for a bit and pay tribute to the band and their music that made him what he is to begin with? He can always come back later and collaborate with Timberlake or whatever he's into these days.

Hey cuz, do you want to contribute to the actual topic at hand, or would you prefer to continue surprising no one with your admission that you find yourself picturing men from 40 year old films?

I am so sorry

but, listen. I was a huge Nirvana fan back in the 90s before Foo Fighters, and I'm so happy I've moved with the times and have been obsessed with Foo Fighters ever since. You can't come in here and start insulting people and expect proper fucking responses.

Now piss off.

Have you thought that maybe Dave just doesn't fucking want to? Or he may feel it would be a betrayal to Kurt to have someone get up there to do Kurts part several nights a week to make a buck? If you think so low of the Foos, why on earth have you joined a Foo forum, besides to troll?
