Foo Fighters Cassettes

I must admit I've only started collecting the Foo Fighters vinyls singles just recently; singles for the time being because my budget is not really big, so I am looking out for bargains here and there.

Now I've found some offers for some of the albums on cassette but I don't have the slightest idea how cheap/expensive these offers are. I must admit I am quite tempted to get them as well.

Could any of you eager collectors help me out with an orientiation of would be a reasonable price for the cassettes? (Maybe also on the vinyl singles if that is not too much) :D

Any guidance would be much appreciated. :)

US release cassettes are a good price at $5 to 10 depending on condition. UK ones maybe 1 or 2 dollars more. In Your Honor, ESPG Skin & Bones (the later albums) were only released in Asia and maybe eastern Europe. Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore etc. These can come up fairly regularly, expect to pay 8 to 13 as a guide for the Asian ones and 6 to 8 for the European ones (Bulgaria etc). Be OK with adding $4-5 more if the cassette is sealed. Over that is too high in my opinion.

Vinyl singles are a whole mess of different prices. Few are really quite the same. Best approach there is to say here what you are looking to buy and you can gauge from comments. Bare in mind this is a terrible time to be buying any vinyl because of the high popularity of the band following the new album, so prices are inflated at the moment. Cassettes aren't really affected though.

Re: Foo Fighters Cassettes

Thanks a lot, that's already a big help.

I just stumbled on a sealed TINLTL cassette for around 10 Euros and a TCATS cassette for around 20 Euros (both with shipping included).

Are there actually fakes around of the cassettes? (Only Foo Fighters material, not late!/pocketwatch stuff)

So far I am especially looking out for the vinyls of
The Pretender
All My Life
Generator
Resolve
Times Like These.

Btw, maybe one of you is interested; an auction for the pocketwatch cassette, though already out of my price league :D

2 day to go ;D

Well, to be fair, I asked for information about the cassettes of the albums, the singles might be a whole different thing because they are much rarer :P

What do you reckon then guys... seems a little suspect to me, what with the whole 0 feedback on the seller etc...

Re: Foo Fighters Cassettes

I also noticed the 0 feedback after posting the link...
Though I guess when paying with PayPal it should be relatively safe; I haven't had any troubles with a seller yet, so I can't really estimate how well their buyer protectin works...

By the way, how much would you guys pay for the vinyl singles of:
Breakout
The Pretender
Resolve
Generator
DOA
Times Like These?

Re: Foo Fighters Cassettes

Breakout 10 euro
The Pretender 6 euro
Resolve 6
Generator 10
DOA 6
Times Like These 6

you can get them cheaper. just look arround, there are plenty of it.

Re: Foo Fighters Cassettes

Thanks a lot, that was more or less the price range that I've found :)

More or less each of the for +-10 Euro including shipping :D

I have to admit I only took a closer look at discogs a couple of days ago, made me realize how inflated those ebay prices often are.

Did any of you guys buy it for $96 there? If that is the case then sorry for raising the bar for a few bucks, I couldn't decide if I should go for it or not :D

edit: Eeek! Sorry 'bout the double post!

Do you guys think it was real?

Re: Foo Fighters Cassettes

Well, the cassette and the artworked looked liked the other images I've seen so far.

Though the completely new user account was a bit suspicious....
I also googled the username out of curiosity and just found the nickname in another community, but that person was from the states, whereas the ebay person is from canada.

I was about to do a reverse image search of the auction photo to see if it was just taken from somewhere, but then the auction was over anyway, so I didn't do it.

Might do it now though... :P

Re: Foo Fighters Cassettes

Yeah, couldn't find anything, there was also no EXIF data in that picture, so I couldn't see if that was an old photo :P

Btw, there's also one on discogs, so if you got $900 spare...

Re: Foo Fighters Cassettes

And the coolest thing is...

No I got two versions of the tape:

- Yellow J-Card, Red artwork with black "Late!" text
- Yellow J-Card, Black artwork with red "Late!" text

I know there's been a lot of debate on which ones are real. I believe these two versions are definitely real. There is also white J-card version out there, but I doubt if that one is the real deal. But considering the amateur style Simple Machines handed back then, it could be they were just out of Yellow J-cards, and printed the rest on white.

Who knows??!

They are all real versions. The differences came from demand - Simple Machines couldn't keep up, and as you say even printed the white J-Cards with plain red text. I have that one and I believe it is the rarest - simply because they did it for a very short time when they were extremely short of time. My cassette itself is definitely not a fake. The debaters just need to do some full research on the company and it's story etc.
