Re: Barrett Jones shares SH outtake with Dave's unheard solo version of 'Gods Look Do

I wish there would've been a 20th anniversary rerelease of the first album with all the Laundry Room demos in top notch quality, as well as Butterflies.

Re: Dave & Pat, discussing Bowie

Supposedly Chad Channing was the one who originally recommended buying "The Man Who Sold The World" to Kurt.

Re: The Next Album: What do YOU want it to be like?

It's nice to see a lot of people that share the same sentiments that I do. There's still plenty of fans from 1995-2001 who got into what was essentially a much different band. That's not a knock on...

Re: Did Dave have plans for first album songs if Nirvana hadn't ended?

You have a lot of misinformation in your post. Dave played Kurt his songs prior to In Utero. They were jamming on Alone+Easy Target in 1991. Kurt heard Dave play Marigold when they lived together on...

Re: Did Dave have plans for first album songs if Nirvana hadn't ended?

The title specifically says "If Nirvana hadn't ended" When I say waiting I mean that Alone + Easy Target had been kicking around since 1991 and supposedly was jammed at Nirvana soundchecks, and by...

Did Dave have plans for first album songs if Nirvana hadn't ended?

I was just wondering if Dave ever specified what his plans were for the songs from the first FF record if Nirvana hadn't ended. Was he going to make another release as Late? Kurt had shown interest...

Re: Barrett Jones shares SH outtake with Dave's unheard solo version of 'Gods Look Do

The acoustic flourishes really make this version. I don't know if it's better than the Scream version but it's definitely on par.

Re: Songs written before their album appearances

Or "Pokey The Little Puppy" > "World"

Songs written before their album appearances

I was just wondering which songs on each album were written at least prior to the album before it. For example:
February Stars actually predates the recording of the S/T album since it was recorded...

For All The Cows airplay

This goes more for the older fans, but does anyone recall For All The Cows getting played on the radio around 95/96? I heard the other 3 singles from the first album plenty of times but never heard...

Re: Foo-inspired

You need to check out Sugar, Bob Mould's post Husker Du band. You'll hear where a lot of the early FF sound comes from.

Re: Happy birthday, Colour and Shape

Seriously the soundtrack to my high school years. Bought the cassette and used to listen to it on my walkmen on the bus to school.

Re: old video of Dave/Taylor amongst WCW wrestlers

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't both these guys have theme songs that sounded EXACTLY like Nirvana songs? And Dave had an issue with it? This is a long time ago so my memory might be hazy.

Re: Pat Smear questions

I read somewhere that Pat wasn't at Robert Lang Studios in January 1994 because he wanted to go to LA because he was home sick (remember, this guy didn't like touring a whole lot). Since he kept up...

Re: Favorite Songs

Yeah, Tom Petty should be getting royalties for that song.

Favorites:

FF - I'll Stick Around
TCATS - Everlong (I could live without hearing it ever played acoustically agan though)
TINLTL - Stacked...

Re: What's with "Resolve"?

To me that song is kind of stuck in that mid 2000's Kerry rally thing, even though it came out after the election. Maybe because of that West Wing episode.

Re: NIRVANA to release ‘Pennyroyal Tea/I Hate Myself And Want To Die’ single

I waited in line at the Newbury Comics closest to me for like a half hour to get in...of course they were all gone.
Decided to try the one in the mall, and there were like 10 of them, and no line....

Re: Wattershed

I guess I misread something up top. I have actually listened to the show but it's been awhile.
I need to hear a lot of S/T songs next time I see them. I missed that boat in the 90s.

Re: B-sides album

I actually put Winnebago from Pocketwatch on the demos disc. They used Color Pictures Of a Marigold on the In Utero deluxe so I figured why not.

Re: B-sides album

Nice. I literally just made a playlist the other day on my ipod that has the almost same exact tracklist (minus the unsurfaced stuff obviously). Even has the Brixton gig as a live disc.

Re: what track took you a while to like

February Stars. It was always my least favorite on TCATS and then one day it just caught me at the right moment and I was on the border of bawling my eyes out. Real talk.

"The Room" music video idea

Anybody see the cult classic "The Room?" If not, do yourself a favor and watch it, it's been called the Citizen Kane of bad movies.
Seeing as how the band are no strangers to movie parody videos, I...
