Re: Song Of The Week - Stranger Things Have Happened

Great song, and I would have liked to hear it live during the acoustic tour. I have no idea why they passed it up.

While I like ESPG, it felt kind of like an abridged version of IYH, at times I...

Re: Late! Pocketwatch

I would kind of like to see (if possible) a remastered version of the album with a box set.

Dave has never really expressed any interest in a re-release of it, I think him revisiting Friend of a...

Re: Song Of The Week - New Way Home

Great song, but I think my enjoyment of it has declined over the years. They have so many good closing tracks its hard for me to settle for one.

Over the years I've tended to favor MIA and Come...

Re: Wasting Light 2 years on

Best album since TINLTL, which hurts me to say because all of the post 2000s albums had potential, and while they were still good, I think they often veered into styles they hadn't yet perfected....

Re: Dave and QOTSA.. Again?!

I like Queens but I'm hoping this has no impact on the next FF record. Wasting Light was a breath of fresh air, and I hope they stay on the right path. Songs for the Deaf was really good, but when FF...

Re: Fred the Plummer!

I like the wood matches, too. Gives it kind of a piney sort of taste.

Re: offspring release times like these as single...kinda

I noticed that on the tracklisting...WTF.

They already officially released it on Ignition and then later as an acoustic version. Plus if you look back to the first or second track of Americana,...

Re: offspring release times like these as single...kinda

Funny...I was about to start a thread on the exact same topic today.

I heard a quick snippet on the radio for the first time today, and it is pretty similar.

Though, if I recall correctly they...

Re: anti-Foo/pro Andrew WK article I found

The Dave/Andrew WK thing from years back was pretty funny....If anyone truly "created" his persona, the dude obviously had a sense of humor.

In fact the whole subplot of AWK's image being carefully...

Re: The New album, is it the best?

Its one of their best for sure.

While it still has some of that stadium-friendly sheen that some of the previous albums had, they didn't seem to fully embrace it as much and sort of went with some...

Re: Franz's backing vocals.

I really liked his vocals as well. Much like with Will, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if they were in the band a little longer.

But, out of everyone I liked Franz's...

Re: Best studio cover - final vote, decide the top ten!

I know. :)

I figured I'd throw in that I liked the drumming on it since everyone seemed to be bashing him in that other thread.

Will's contribution to that track was probably one of the reasons I...

Re: Mina wants to play with Foos!!!

The title of this thread sounds like a bad German porn.

On a side note, I have no idea who Mina is, I doubt Dave does either. Perhaps they can just swap culinary recipes and leave it at that.

Re: Dave to exec-produce a comedy for FX

Sounds cool. FX rarely disappoints.

However FX seems to axe shows pretty quick if they don't grav ratings, ie. The Riches and that comedy about eating disorders, which were both funny.

Re: Best studio cover - final vote, decide the top ten!

I remember I had some old bootleg that had a "drunk" version as an encore. Not sure if Dave was actually drunk but you're right - most of the early versions of it were repetitive and mumbly.

Anyone...

Re: Best studio cover - final vote, decide the top ten!

Down In The Park.

The dynamics, the tempo, the tone, the drumming :) ...it was just a good cover and has clearly withstood the test of time for many fans.

Re: Super Bowl Halftime

To be perfectly honest, I'd rather them not ever play the Super Bowl. I suppose a pre-game thing would be forgivable but, looking back at some of the previous acts, they are either way past their...

Re: Best studio cover poll (part 2) - vote for your favourite!

Darling Nikki is a good cover but for me I've just grown tired of it. It was a pretty prolific cover and one of their few non-album tracks to get radio play, so it was easy to get sick of it after...
