Re: Taylor Hawkins signature snare drum

I haven't seen this, so cool. Glad to find out about this, but bummer that there isn't any footage of the snare being played yet.

Re: Underrated FF songs

"Lonely As You" - although I like the MDD version better.

"But, Honestly" - That's been used in a couple ad campaigns, I thought it fit well.

"Aurora" - because it deserves more attention.

Re: Help me compose a toast....

You can't go too deep if it's a wedding. If he's super religious though, I don't know if he'd take offense to 'sin between the sermon'. Shouldn't be a big deal.

Re: Fraternity

Maybe something for their 20th anniversary. But not a box set. Not just yet. I don't like box sets unless it's for a band that's disbanded (i.e. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin). Although I'd love one for...

Re: Another Sirvana Song?!?!?

Not only were The Beatles a huge inspiration for Dave, but for every member of Nirvana. Especially Kurt. Hell, he wrote "About A Girl" after listening to "Meet The Beatles!" for three hours straight....

Re: Best Dave Grohl tattoo in the world

Gotta love Dave Foo Grohl!

Re: sound city who plays what on each track?

The italics show where you're unsure of or where you have video evidence?

Because I can say for sure that Dave played guitar on "From Can to Can't" in one of the bonus clips on the Sound City DVD.

Re: Wasting Light 2 years on

I definitely see it as their best album since TINLTL. Wasting Light still does it for me, I keep a copy in my car at all times. For me, my favorite parts were the Back and Forth documentary...

Re: QOTSA premiere new single tonight!

Well, in a case like this, I mean filler as in songs that are skipped constantly. :p

Re: QOTSA premiere new single tonight!

The 45 minute zone is a good run time. I'd rather have 10 great songs than 7 great songs with 6 filler songs.

Re: QOTSA premiere new single tonight!

Yeah, that thought really turned my thinking around. I was a little disappointed with only 10 tracks but they'll probably have some longer ones.

Re: QOTSA premiere new single tonight!

Yeah, wasn't too happy about that. I'm sure it'll be on Youtube within the hour it's broadcasted.

Re: Chevy Metal

Yeah, I saw those! Too bad Shifty's not with them, but he's out having fun with Dead Peasants. Cool to see Nate in with the mix.

I'd really like to see them sometime.

QOTSA premiere new single tonight!

Queens Of The Stone Age will be debuting their first single from their new album today at 7 pm on BBC Radio 1. You can listen to the broadcast tonight, which includes an interview with Josh Homme and...

Re: Dave and QOTSA.. Again?!

I thought he was fantastic. QOTSA are brilliant live. Loved the new song.

Re: Songs that should be played live

Not recorded though I suppose? I didn't think there'd be video. This is cool though.

Re: Foo Fighters & Heston team up!

IGN.com had an April Fool's video announcing a new gaming console by Apple that only plays Angry Birds. I laughed a little.

Re: Next Foo Fighters album "might" be recorded on the Neve mixing desk from Sound Ci

I've totally fallen behind on Season 4. I guess my hopes weren't too high with Dan not running the show, but I really enjoyed the Inspector Spacetime Convention episode.

There was a preview...

Re: Songs that should be played live

Definitely more S/T stuff, they occasionally have played Alone/Easy Target and that's always a great song. Wattershed, too.

Other than that...Lonely As You, Wind Up, My Poor Brain, A320, No Way...

Re: Next Foo Fighters album "might" be recorded on the Neve mixing desk from Sound Ci

Yeah, I guess it would be cool to see what one song would be like live in one take, but that was essentially what Wasting Light: Live from Studio 606 was.

I have a feeling they'll use the...

Re: Sound City Supergroup

This. I'd take Them Crooked Vultures over any combo from Reel to Real. Although Grohl, Reznor and Homme come in a close second.

And I'd love a punk rock band with Grohl, Ving, Pat, Taylor, and...

Re: No Foo Fighters album this year?

I know it's been done already and they probably wouldn't do it again without a twist to it, but another double album would be cool. Not half rock, half acoustic again (although I love the acoustic...
