Re: Foo Fighters - Medium Rare (Recordstore day vinyl)

Just scored the Nirvana one online for 20 from Tower records' Irish website! Looks like it was the last one.....

Talking Re: Wasting Light Reviews

I guess it's down to the individual. It just seems that some of the reviewers are coming at it from a really negative "just another Foo Fighters record" point of view. I don't think anybody is...

Re: Anyone else think they sound a bit like Foreigner...

There's definitely a 70's feel to some of the songs, hard to pin point it, maybe the vocal melodies - either way I'm loving it!

Re: Favorite Tracks From Foo Fighters Debut?

Something about Floaty, it really takes me back to the mid 90's and being in my mid-teens, it's amazing how time has flown by!

Re: Does anyone know how Dave's friend Jimmy died?

I agree, no need for a discussion, I just don't think it's heresy to ask an innocent question.

Re: Does anyone know how Dave's friend Jimmy died?

Since Dave has obviously discussed it in interviews I wouldn't say it's exactly private, just a sensitive issue.

Re: Does anyone know how Dave's friend Jimmy died?

I would say it's a sensitive situation, and whilst it doesn't really warrant a thread of its own, I don't think it's necessarily invading the band or Dave's privacy to question the inspiration behind...

Re: Anyone getting a physical copy of Wasting Light on release day?

You sure it's not in there, not stuck to the inside of the case or anything?! I got mine from Asda, I really wasn't expecting the tape, thought it was only included in the deluxe versions.

Re: Anyone getting a physical copy of Wasting Light on release day?

Bought it after work today, I was surprised to see a little strip of tape fall out of the cd booklet, very cool!

Re: 'Back And Forth' shown in the UK

Yeah the sound cut out during Dear Rosemary for us too, and then again a few times after. The sound was also out of sync with the video by a couple of seconds for the entire thing, which kind of...

Re: Bob Mould

It was a stroke of genius asking him to sing on Dear Rosemary, it works so well. It was a complete surprise to me too, because of all the fuss made about Krist and Butch working on the record I had...

Re: I think "Bridge Burning" my be in my top 5 of favourite ever Foo tracks...

Glad I'm not the only one who loves Headwires :)

Of the new songs it's hard to say since it's all so new, but Dear Rosemary is right up there, Arlandria very close behind.

Re: Live Online Concert April 12th

Awesome, I remember Pearl Jam did this a few years back when they were promoting their self-titled record - such a great idea.

Re: How many times have you listened to wasting light?

Probably around 6 times start to finish, but some individual songs more. I'm trying not to over play it before it's even out! I'm dying for a decent quality copy to play in my car so I can crank it...

Re: Fan Reviews of Foo Fighters Back and Forth Documentary

Didn't really know where to put this:

Apparently Taylor doesn't want the documentary to be released.

Re: "Dear Rosemary" NOT so original

I know what the OP is saying, sure part of the verses have a similar riff, but that's pretty much where the similarity ends. I couldn't care less anyway, I'm absolutely in love with this song!

Re: OMG I don't like the new CD....

Haha! Totally agree with you, this record is vintage Foos. There's some screamy rocking stuff, some great mid-paced stuff, and it's crammed with classic melodies. I was expecting it to be good,...
