I love best of you, one of my all time faves, I'd just love to hear a more chilled version of it acoustic, it would be beautiful I think.

I thought the acoustic LRTR was interesting. I was just glad he did that acoustic and not Everlong.

New renditions of old songs is a good thing no matter how well it goes over. Give me an electric version of an acoustic song, an acoustic version of an electric song, and acapella version of an instrumental...whatever. Just mix it up and do whatever keeps it interesting for you guys to continue playing!

The only small complaint I have about the solo acoustic thingy is that I wish Dave would use it as an opportunity to do stuff that's actually acoustic or at least more suited to acoustic that wouldn't normally get done. Songs like Ain't It The Life, Miracle, Razor, Stranger Things songs like that. Who knows it's only been a couple shows so maybe he will eventually. Even though the setlist has still been the same for two nights in a row at least it's a huge improvement over the setlists from the ESPG tour.

Eggzactly, I'm with you! The album version is so immense, I still love it. But I'm with those who think it is irritating to the ears when Dave screams it solo, and think a chilled down version would be incredible - he's never done it that way as far as I'm aware.

And for what it's worth, LRTR is one of those songs (for me) that could just drop out of the setlist and I wouldn't really care. It's not like other ones that I've heard so many times I don't need to hear it anymore (For All the Cows, Johnny Park, Cold Day in the Sun, etc), I just never was that big on it.

I never disliked it but it just wasn't a favorite personally.

This. It's a good song, but it's never really struck me either, I listen to it very now and again. I always expected it to drop from the set after a while.

Oh, and I love me some acoustic Overdrive, shame they didn't do that more. Full band Best of You, when you're in the right mood for it, is an amazing song, i'm just waiting for the day he does a chilled acoustic cover of it, I live in hope!

Everyone in this thread makes good points.

Acoustic or not, I think Dave needs to realise that although his trademark voice is what makes him so great, he DOESN'T need to over use it on every song that he sings.

Musically, the Best Of You is a great song, but towards the end of it you (sometimes) wish he would just STFU and finish the damn thing.

Personally I could listen to it all day, but whenever I get feedback this seems to be the consensus.

If he's going to do accoustic sets, then learn to take it easy, like the rest of the band is at the time, so you can catch up with them, when they come back on stage.

Really?!? Maybe it was just the show I was at but when we were leaving that show my wife (girlfriend then) and I both agreed it sounded terrible. Now mind you I'm not that crazy about the song to begin with but it's one of her favorites. Again it could have just been the acoustics of the place where they were playing. It was all vocals though. I don't even think you could hear Dave's guitar during the whole song. Ever since then I just can't listen to it acoustically though admittedly it sounds alright on the Skin And Bones album.

PD: Is it true? was it just Dave and an acoustic guitar? how was it?
I should have clarified on this one, it was using his electric guitar solo, the blue one he always plays.

TBH, after listening to the Howard Stern interview, Ive become a tad concerned with our Dave and his hearing and vocal cords.

Fuck after watching the video, I honestly can't remember but since he did the same thing in Tusla and our setlist almost mirrored that one I would have to say now he was acoustic since that is also what I had written down but I will admit I was pretty messed up by then, lol.
