I've always liked Dave's lyrics. Nice twists on common figures of speech, that kind of thing, although he started getting dark on IYH, darker on ESPG and really bad energy on WL (e.g., One of These Days). Do the SH lyrics mean anything to somebody living under a rock and hasn't seen the series?

They mean something to me and I've yet to see an episode.

Haha when the lyrics are inaudible in the recording it doesn't bother me! But the word 'Water shed' can be made out and is said correctly. Which is the equivalent to Famine here as it is in the song title

How about the way he sings 'time' in for all the cows? My TOIM has all run out?

There was another word I heard the other day that was weirdly pronounced and I can't remember which song I was listening to. He just sings weird

I think the difference between the examples people have given of 'wi've got another!' etc is that they are things Dave can't help but doing live, which is fair, his vocals are tough for three hours and we've all found it endearing. But he has always kept it together in the studio. I don't know why the word had to be Famine when the song could have been Feast of the Feral or something, he could have kept the melody, it's an awesome melody.

It's my favourite on the album though so I don't want to bag on it too much. It's a very small complaint to an otherwise rad tune.

Uh, probably because feast and famine go together as opposites. Feast and feral, not so much.

it's also a common idiom: http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/feast+or+famine

C'mon now, kids, I hate these postboard pissing contests because we're all supposed to be on the same side (although you can't have my DC tickets or my Generator EP from the UK).

I said Feast of the Feral. Just an example, could have been a lot of things. It doesn't bother me too much personally, I love the song.

Hey I listened to the whole album from start to finish yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks and its really grown on me. I definitely think this album is a "grower" a lot like TINLTL was for a lot of people.

I love the album!
So many opportunities for jamming live on several of the songs here!
I love when music just takes flight and band just starts jamming ad lib during a solo
Something from nothing
God as my witness!!
Outside...love guitar riff!!

Subterranean...especiacially
And omg
I am a River
Phenomenal with LA YO!!!!!!!!!

Yup. But not all of the names of Foo Fighters songs are idioms so it could have been called anything, nothing was tying him to using it, he always could have waited for a vocal melody that perfectly fitted it as I feel he usually does on record. He thought 'it'll do' and I guess it has as it seems only a small amount of people are bugged by it on here, which is good, I would rather I was essentially the odd one out thinking negatively as I love the band. I was interested to see peoples thoughts, maybe it is more common as a UK complaint as someone said, as anyone I've spoken to about it down here has thought it was questionable.
