I had a look at when they could possibly reschedule, but the tour does look pretty tight for space. There are small gaps where they could fit in a some shows, but it all depends on whether or not the venues are available.

What does everyone think they will do regarding rescheduling the UK tour? I had tickets for Murrayfield, but don't see them playing there now (unless they wait a year).
I think it makes sense to reschedule it for next year really. Like you said, there's not a lot of space where they could come back perhaps besides the autumn/winter time, but then the weather would not be ideal for stadium gigs. I just hope that our tickets do get honoured for a reschedule. I bought tickets through Twitter because I missed out first time round and I'd hate to miss out again.

What I've been thinking today is, who is gonna keep DG down? The man has more energy, more ideas, more things to do...it's endless!! Someone may have to tie him down within the house, you know he won't stay still for long!!

What makes me sadder than the gigs being off is knowing that right now those UK Foo Fighters gimps are probably loading their gear into a van while dialling every venue within a mile of Wembley and enquiring about availability.

There's a space at Wembley at the start of September for two nights.. potential for Murrayfield also... that might just fit between the end of the two tours in the USA.... if Dave is well enough by then... and its not clear he will be.

England are playing at home on 8th Sept, so I'd be a little surprised if there was a gig there around the same time.

Like they needed the help.
We'll call it the "You Ordered The Steak, Instead Here's Some Shit On A Plate" tour.

Have they ever cancelled a gig before and not returned to do the show at another time? I really just want it postponed.

I thought you might get away with 4th/5th Sept, and still turn around the pitch for 8th.. thats wishful thinking maybe.

Actually, looking at the tour dates and Wembley site the 7th and 8th of August look possible. That assumes that Dave is OK, of course.

Dave said in his letter at least two different ways that they'll make up the dates as soon as it's possible. Not to slight any other venue but Wembley is a really fucking big deal. He's got to heal & they need to work out scheduling. It's all in his letter.
Now get back from that ledge!

I'm not sure the FA would be keen on risking the pitch being back up and running okay after the gigs so quickly.

Given his injury, there's not even a guarantee that he will be back up performing properly by Sept, and the hassle of cancelling/rearranging again would be terrible.

I'd have thought that next summer would make much more sense. They would be able to come back for the festivals they have missed anyway and fit it around them.

all speculation, of course.

Been a while since I posted, got home after dinner in a pub by the river, talked about the potential gig with my wife,2 nights Wembley,1 night Edinburgh, both had too much to drink, walked home along Thames singing 'The best of you' together in anticipation of what may be,got home logged onto iPad to find the sad news, hit like a bolt! Then almost immediately read Dave's message, the heart was lighter and the stress gone, immediately sent our thoughts and healing to Dave, there will be another day and if the roof is on,we will all take it off together, take care Dave! Be well! In this age of Simon cowell saturated music scene, you are the light to the real reason music was created.be well!!

Wembley and Edinburgh waits in anticipation!

If they reschedule for next summer then it would be cool if they made it into a mini festival for the day. Get some of the bands/artists he's worked with over the years to play and start from midday.
