I can't believe they couldn't find two dates for Wembley next year, its like 14 months away. Wembley isn't perfect but its a lot easier to get to than Milton Keynes, better transport links, much easier for hotels, etc. And I thought they were making a big deal of returning to the scene of their 2008 triumph?

And the tickets go on sale this week ... I'm still trying to sort out refunds and move monies for the cancelled Wembley dates; why put them on sale so early? My sister literally just refunded my Wembley ones, I now have to ping the money straight back I guess.
The reason they wouldn't have been able to get wembley next year has probably been stated in other threads several times now.

gigs of that size = lots of planning, including getting permission from local authorities.
wembley can only hold a certain amount of events each year, most of them being sport of some description (mainly football).

due to this bands/artists probably have signed up at least 12-18 months in advance to hold events there.

they will return to wembley at some point I'm sure but due to them wanting to rearrange quickly, they opted for a venue that was available in a few months rather than waiting a couple of years for the same venue.

sure its not the best venue but at least its a gig this year, something none of us really expected. and at least you can "ping the money straight back" to go to the gig, others who could have made the original dates now can't make these dates and have to wait for another time.

Are you serious about the booking fee not being refunded? That's arse, especially given how much they charge...

I hate the MK bowl, only ever seen Eminem there (decided not to go for the Foos last time they played there because it took sooooo long to get out of the car park, and the fans (Eminem's, not the Foos!) weren't very nice!)... but we have got a room within walking distance so hopefully can get hold of some tickets!!

I can now get over my Foo blues!

The bf has seen Eminem and The Prodigy there and he says it is the worst little piece of shit of a venue he has ever been to.

I booked a few hours ago tickets in Northampton at Park Inn ...62 pounds after quidco cashback; not bad. There is a train and journey lasts around 15 min; the hotel is close to station there. I wanted to get something in Milton Keynes but either everything sold out after announcement or prices crazy high.

Although it would be worth being prepared to phone them direct on the day as my experience is that they are not always prepared for these type of bookings on line
That's brilliant news! Wembley phoned me back and were beyond useless, her exact words were "no idea, we might know something on Wednesday"!! Helpful! Thank you for letting me know, you've put my mind at ease

I know everybody who had tickets for Wembley gets the first option of getting tickets a day before general release. Can't seem to find who are selling the tickets require accessiable seating.

Very true, and I've only just noticed that the new dates are actually this year rather than next...d'oh!! So I can see why the band had to grab somewhere/anywhere available to do them this year now. Kind of makes it a moot point for me now anyway as I can't do September this year anyway

I know its nobody's fault, and the band certainly don't owe us anything at all. As you said, new dates are better than no dates at all. I think I'm just still crushed by how amazing the Wembley weekend was going to be, doing both shows, having the hotel booked for both nights, meeting up with other fans, recapturing the magic of 2008...*sigh*... what could have been...

I live in Towcester which is about 13 miles from the MK bowl. There are a few hotel / pubs with rooms which may be available.

I would try these (in the order of best to worst):

Saracens Head
The Monk and Tipster
The Brave Old Oak
The Peacock

Google them for phone numbers. If there is something on at the Silverstone Circuit the same weekend they may be busy. As always do your research on what they are like. The Saracens is part of the Old English Inn chain (and therefore should be OK), the others are rooms above pubs. There are a few independent high end B&Bs in the town. Again search for them online.

As for transport, you can get a bus to Central MK on Saturday daytime for about a fiver but not one back. There are no buses to MK on Sunday. As for Taxi's I would book in advance and expect to pay 25ish to MK station in the day time and maybe a few quid more coming back.

If anyone is considering a taxi, they were just a f*cking nightmare last time. I advise booking in advance and walking to a meeting point in the City Centre / Station area.

There will be others on here with better knowledge of MK (although I do go there everyday for work) but I'm happy to help in anyway I can.

As far as I am aware, Ticketmaster will sell the Accessibility tickets. Wembley told me that only those with Stadium Accessibility tickets will get the pre sale code for them. I pointed out the Stadium had seating and the Bowl doesn't, so there may be more people requiring Accessibility tickets at the Bowl, so pre-sale Accessibility should be available to all who booked the Stadium.

Pre sale is all well and good but what about the people who had to get their tickets from a different source and not one that will be giving a pre sale code. I guess it will be a case of joining the free for all on Friday.

Hotels in Northampton close to the train station- ibis, travelodge and park in. Anything else is not close to the train station and you'll have to walk for ages or get a cab. And cabs can often be sporadic around the station.
