Default Sonic Cecilia

There has been quite a few people who weren't keen on Sonic Highways. I was one of them, which was quite a shame after adoring Wasting Light. However, there were certainly songs on it I liked, and luckily for me, I am a huge fan of Saint Cecilia!

To give myself a full new album I'm happy with I've mixed the songs I like with Saint Cecilia to make a full album to listen to from this era of the band. Wondered if anyone in my position had done the same and would like to share their playlist? I'm a big fan of this kind of thing. Would love to listen to anyone elses interpretations, if anyone has worked on anything.

Obviously if you don't agree, I'm not meaning to antagonize. This is what I've been listening to at the moment, I feel it flows really well!

(Edited, thanks for helping me finish mine!)

Outside (works as a great opener)
The Feast and the Famine (sounds great still as a solid second track)
Sean (a fun inbetweener)
Iron Rooster (nice bit of respite, flows well into sfn)
Something From Nothing (the closest to being cut because of the holy diver parts, but there's just too much of the song that I like)
Saviour Breath (comes off the heavy outro of sfn nicely)
Saint Cecilia (flows well from the end of the climax of sfn)
Congregation
Neverending Sigh (one last heavy song!)
Subterranean
I Am A River

1. Something From Nothing
2. Saint Cecilia
3. Sean
4. Outside
5. What Did I Do?
6. Savior Breath
7. The Feast and the Famine
8. Subterranean
9. The Neverending Sigh

I think it's a shame What Did I Do? isn't longer and that it's attached to such a lame second half, but it would work as a short little pop ditty in the middle of a record. I'm also not a big fan of The Neverending Sigh but it works the best as a closer of all of the songs.

It's a shame that you cut out the rest of the SH Songs. There are 8 Songs. Just add the 5 SCEP Songs and you have a badass record.

I'd have to agree, the 5 new tracks could really help boost Sonic Highways. Not sure on any order right now though.

I liked Sonic Highways, just found it a little short, so I have this right now (I don't know if I'm completely happy with it yet)

1. Something From Nothing
2. Sean
3. Savior Breath
4. Iron Rooster
5. Congregation
6. What Did I Do?/God As My Witness
7. Saint Cecilia
8. The Feast and the Famine
9. In The Clear
10. Outside
11. The Neverending Sigh
12. Subterranean
13. I Am a River

I left the middle 3 songs of the EP in running order before Congregation, since their track lengths (as has been pointed out before) are 2:11, 3:11, 4:11 and Congregation's is 5:11, so I had to do it. I think the last 4 songs run really nicely.

That's exactly how I would do it

I had a similar idea. Combine SH with SC but you can only choose 10 songs. Here it goes.

1. Something from Nothing
2. Feast and The Famine
3. Saint Cecilia
4. Im a river
5. Congregation
6. Savior Breath
7. In The clear
8. Subterranean
9. Outside
10. Neverending Sigh

Would be a great album!

Cool to see that others have had the same idea.

I think that's one of the reasons I was so dissapointed with SH. It wasn't just that there were only 8 songs, it's that I wasn't crazy about even half of those. So I wouldn't add all of them to all of SC, personally. 13 songs would be pushing it a bit also in length, though I think I might add I Am A River and Saviour Breath to up the amount to 11. I feel I may give those songs too hard a time.

That's it. It's real catchy and fun when it kicks in (piano parts and lyrics are a bit much for me) but I'd agree that GAMW is just a bit lame and unnecessary. Good point on Neverending Sigh, I actually love that song but it trails out perfectly for a closer
