And you think that a thread like this will bump it up?

I'll give you props for trying though..

The board will never be what it once was....I think the main reason is because the band doesnt post online anymore. The last post was Dave in like 2005 or something about grey hair and too much coffee. Oh well, nothing lasts forever

jesus. their last album is from 2007, almost 3 years ago and since then, there wasn't too much info that was worth discussing and the Greatest Hits doesn't even count, what would we talk about then? wait for a new album, all new 10 or more songs to discuss, choose favorites, see played live, like some live versions, dislike others, tons of tour pictures to see, post, laugh, lots of concert talk with people who saw them play, and this just to name a few.

and now? nothing. pretty understandable, nothing to do with lack of band messages.

This is correct. There is nothing really going on.

I couldn't agree more.

That's mad, I can't believe Dave used to post on here, did he just post fresh things or did he ever reply to people?

After the 2004 election, Chris posted in Political Discussion for a few days; I had a bit of an argument with him. Other than that, i think they just lurk (I read some interview where Dave said he read the reactions to the Greatest hits new tunes and he knew we hard-core fans didn't really like them.)

5. New song tentatively titled "Get Up, I Want To Get Down" is a monster.

Wow, so was that Taylor song proposed to be a Foo song initially?

Chris just posted last week - just not in this forum.

Once the Foos get back into Foo music, there will be reasons to post here.

(Two-Bob Peeters - ha!)

I think it's a different song altogether Taylor just used the title.

Dave usually posted stuff about tour in a blog post style on a forum dedicated to the band, it was called "letters from the band" or something like that, they posted but no one was allowed to reply. Chris used to post as jakejackson, I think it was on the political discussion as someone said. I don't know more than what the "letter from the band" had.

There used to be a chatroom as well, the band members had avatars that only them could use, so if one of them was online we would know. I saw Chris there a couple of times and Dave's avatar showed as well, only a "BOO!" appeared on his text, I believe that it was one of the webmasters scaring people there, and it worked, all of a sudden you couldn't read anything other than a lot of "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!"

yeah, that's what happens if Dave ever enters a chatroom with his fans.

-------

EDIT. I just checked their posts and I remember the last one by Dave, he ended with "it's Mountain of You and it's old as fuck" because back then someone found this song by him, no question about it, but also no info whatsoever, no one ever heard it, it wasn't on anything related to him, wasn't ever released and someone dropped it here on the board, it became the subject of the month, people trying to write down the lyrics to try to discover the title (it was untitled), people trying to find messages that were supposedly hidden on the lyrics, etc. I remember that for the "solve this mess I created" bit of the lyric, someone added "we're trying, Dave". It became so huge, that Dave himself had to post something about it. He only told the title and how old it is, but it was more than anyone ever wanted to know.

I liked it better when you could actually trade live recordings and on Recordings. I know it's the rules and all that crap but it would be cool to be able to get stuff like vinyl only B-Sides that you need to trade your left arm to get your hands on
