Default Tulsa in May

Starting up the Tulsa thread.

First time lucky enough to get GA "seats" on the floor.

Driving in from Springfield, MO, so we will have plenty of time to get settled before getting in line. Any advice on getting as close to the front as possible at BOK Arena, from those who have been there?

What a great week! I got the 8th last Deluxe Pre-Order Package yesterday and tix to Tulsa today!

Can't wait!

Not alot of response to the Tulsa show so far. Early still I guess.

Anyone ever been to BOK arena? I am curious how safe the area around the arena is. We are staying about 5 blocks from the venue and wondering if it will be safe enough to walk there and back. I would hate to have to find a parking spot 5 blocks from our hotel...lol. It has been at least 20 years since I was last in Tulsa for an overnight stay.

My sister and I will be at the Tulsa show. She lives down there so I will ask her about the area around the BOK.

Cool. I looked up some info, but not many details about downtown really.

Anyone know if the band allows cameras? We went to the Memphis show in 2008 and I cannot recall if cameras were allowed or not. I plan on being there early enough to get a rail spot and would love to be able to take pics.

Does anyone know anything fun to do in Tulsa? There's that 76ft. statue you can visit, and I read about some kind of big tower you can go up to the top of by elevator.

There isn't a lot to do in Tulsa on a Tuesday night, but there are some good bars in downtown that are worth the time. Straight up 1st street to the east about 8 blocks from BOK is McNellie's, which isn't bad. There are several others too.

The area down there isn't really "scary" but there are some homeless people that you'll run into when walking. Just walk near the curb side of the sidewalks (rather than near a building). With the crowd that will be there after the show any walk to a nearby hotel will be just fine and there will be a large police presence.

There is a parking garage on the southwest side of BOK.

I've never had floor seats at BOK but I've been there for a few shows. The 100 and 200 sections aren't bad. I was in one of the 300 sections for Aerosmith/ZZ Top and I think the acoustics up top suck bad. I'll never do another show there with top level seats.

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks. I'm not 21, but I'll find a couple of places to visit.
I'm pretty sure that my dad grew up in Tulsa, so I might visit his old places he used to go to.

Less than a month. Just a handful of the board going huh? I can't wait. Still trying to figure out when to get in line to get up front.

Also trying to find out if cameras will be allowed...

Let's see, 5 blocks? If it is a hotel Hyatt/Marriott/Doubletree/Holiday Inn, yeah no problem walking. I walk back and forth to BOK Center all the time, even in the middle of the night.

Hmmm, is there anything fun to do in Arkansas? Can't think of any "must see" places in Tulsa. Downtown Tulsa has many bars & restaurants. I believe there is a Robert Rauschenberg exibit at the Philbrook Museum beginning in May, only a 3 mile drive from the BOK center.

Generally small cameras are allowed. There will be people lining up that morning, likely at the entrance, so you know how that goes...

Yes, I did the drive back and forth to Dallas for Radiohead, Weezer, Tom Petty, U2/Muse...glad the foos are coming back to Tulsa. I believe they were last here touring the 1st or 2nd album. I think Dave was here on that QOTSA tour, also.

Hit me up if you have an extra reserved seat ticket. I'm thinking of doing a back to back with Little Rock. Thanks, John
