Permission to use a Wasting Light Image for Replacement Hoodie?
Does anyone know how I could go about getting permission to use the Wasting Light album cover art and foo fighters 'FF' logo for use on a one-off replica of a hoodie I bought at the Wasting Light tour in 2011 in Philadelphia (Wells Fargo Center)?
The hoodie has developed holes, and is faded and shrunk  I'd like to make a new one on CustomInk just for myself. Also, if anyone knows where I can buy an officially licensed version instead, that would be great too! Last edited by jbd1986 : August 31st 2018 at 02:27 PM.

Yeah, I would check eBay or the Facebook groups to see if someone might have a similar one they were trying to sell first.
In terms of "homemade" shirts, I have seen ones at Foo gigs and for other bands before. You are technically supposed to ask for permission for such things, although I'm not sure how likely it is that anyone would get permission for it when it involves the bigger bands out there. Depending on the way you planned to make it, if it was strictly one for just wearing around the house and you weren't making copies or trying to sell them, you might not run a risk of anything. Under intellectual property law, they simply don't have a right to do it, and the potential legal consequences are not a business expense they're willing to eat. Which still leaves you without a replacement hoodie, and since it's a complicated image on a dark-colored garment, it's not an easy (or cheap) DIY project. Which pretty much leaves you with Ebay, I guess.

Honestly I don't know what the printshop is looking for, like, a letter signed by Dave or Gus? Also, here's one "woman XL", not sure what makes it for "women", but it does say "Men's L". And it does look like the real deal and not some cheap knockoff... but who knows. Not sure what your take is on wearing used clothes.
