Anyone planning on going to Elvis's house while in Memphis? Anyone touring the Gibson factory?
I don't know if I'm going to do either of those.
BTW, What's the best/most famous resturant in Memphis? I hope there's an In-n-Out Burger in Memphis. Those are amazing.

Graceland possibly, but the Stax Museum and Smithsonian Rock and Soul Museum sound good too. Beale Street and barbecue. Some family-friendly stops are a must for us, as we'll have an 11 year-old and a baby along. Only the 11 year old and I will be at the concert though.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I've heard of Beale Street, but not Stax or Smith. Rock and Soul museum.

Negative Ghostrider. I think the furthest east that INO gets is Dallas/Ft. Worth.

For things to do in memphis click here.

As of now, I'm doing Tulsa, Little Rock and then Memphis for a small road trip. I would like to take my 15 year old daughter as she worships the Foo as much as I do but she has finals that week in school and can't miss. I bought 8 tix to Tulsa, 4 for LR and still working on Memphis. I'll have to find somebody to go with me but that shouldn't be too hard.

Wow, that's a lot of tix. Hope that works out for you.

We just got two GA floor tickets for Memphis. So now, we have to decide what to with our reserved seats. Expand the roadtrip crew, or sell them? Decisions, decisions...

I received my first pair of tickets by mail today! Although our traveling schedule has tightened, I'm still optimistic and excited about this trip!
Considering all the domestic and professional woes besetting me lately, I need something to look forward to, and this is it.

I'll be there! We're driving from Southwestern Virginia...about 11 hours I think. Anybody know any good/cheap places to stay?

I got a look at Memphis and the FedEx Forum today. Sadly, it was during the Spurs-Grizzlies telecast. Spurs got whupped, but I got my Foo tickets and a great concert to look forward to in less that two months!

I'm debating on whether to make an 8 or so hour trip to Memphis to make it my first Foo show. But then, it looks like Little Rock is only a couple hours from there, and I'd be tempted to do that one too, which means more hotel expenses, etc.

All the great Foo stuff happening now has got me excited, and I really want to see them soon. They haven't announced any shows near me yet, so that's why I'm thinking road trip. Hell, I'd almost chance going to NY to possibly get a ticket to SNL.

If anyone has any good hotel recommendations or sights, etc. in Memphis, I'd love to hear them. I forgot about Gibson and some others mentioned above.

Haven't worked on the hotel stuff yet, but not ever having been to Memphis I asked for input on my facebook and got the following responses:

1. Kings palace, B.B Kings, both off of Beal St, and the Gibson Guitar factory..
2. MLK Museum
3. Look for the "Neely's" BBQ restaurant (they are on Food network)
4. You can get some really good crack at most convenience stores in west memphis!
5. Any place on Beale St. rocks, Sun Studio is a must see, Rock 'n' Soul Museum, and the Peabody Duck March.
6. Rendezvous BBQ is a must. Ribs are the best

Thanks. Good info. I'll have to see if I might be able to find some not-too-expensive hotel.
