Here is the clip.

You can hear the guy next to the taper asking what happened.

Of the 3 times I saw Winnebago played, the first one nobody knew any of the songs except for maybe a few people that had heard Exhausted, the 2nd time they opened with Winnebago so the reaction was impossible to guage cause it was probably more of a "YEAH! THE BAND IS ON!" cheer than anything, and the 3rd time I don't really remember a distinct reaction one way or the other. Even I didn't really care about it that much, because they had already started doing the "Wattershed instead of the outro" thing, which totally killed it for me, because without that outro, Winnebago is basically just a weak song IMO.

Even with the outro, I'm not the hugest fan but without the drums going nuts at the end? It just has no real point, to me.

I wouldn't mind seeing it back in the set. I've always liked it.

On a semi-related note, I only just realized recently that one of the riffs in Winnebago, the one in the outro, is pretty much a direct rip off of the main riff in Husker Du's "Chartered Trips".

Yeah, they are very similar, I have thought that when listening.

There ya go. I bet that's why I doubt Dave would ever want to play it. I agree with Tim. It's an early song that wears it's influence on it's sleeve a bit too much and not the greatest song. And was a b-side. I bet Dave has moved on from it. Just my 2 cents. Unless it's a hit or a set staple why would a band play an old song like this?
