I feel like that cat off the o2 advert, staring longingly at that cream cake with the song over it "If it takes forever....."

Swap the cake for the new Foos album.

Been away for a while & I may have missed someone else having a similar thought. Anyway....I've been wondering if perhaps "The whole new..never been done before" thing might be the very first album to be released via the new Neil Young music playback system. I think it's called PONO. It's supposed to blow cd/mp3 and all current wav (etc.) and LP sound away.

Wouldn't people have to invest in new gear to listen to it? That I am not doing.Regular cd for me.I can't see this being the never done before thing tbh.

It's THE Joe Walsh, only the mistakenly tagged Joe Walsh is a different dude - the problem with posting something on social media is that sometimes the twitter/instagram usernames dont match up. But if you go to @joewalsh on twitter he's posted a picture with Dave and Taylor.

Edit:: A quick instagram search for Rancho De La Luna confirms that's where they are, the pic on the wall behind Taylor matches one on the wall there and among the books on the table: http://blog.popflys.com/wp-content/u...2/3dd-book.jpg
The mere fact those two books are in the same stack in a studio they are in just screams confirmation of vast range of styles being looked at and read about though for me. I mean you have down time sure - but for a project like this when you are there its really still all about the job - even when you're relaxing you're thinking and doing stuff that relates more often than not - but to let it "slip" into a photo you post on FB - not coincidental. Far more from the books here than the 3D glasses for me.

Those books belong to, and are just laying around the recreation part of the studio - its not like the band have theory homework.
That's how I knew the book Taylor is looking at was "3DD" search #ranchodelaluna on twitter and you'll see it & those other books in plenty of shots from months ago.

I agree, it's just casual reading. I don't think it relates to anything.

Those taggings on the picture are interesting though, Walsh and Chris Goss. No way they just bumped into Walsh and he happened to be wearing a shirt with Foo written on it.

So this is another studio where guests have been known to be present but unknown if recording.

Just a thought. But if you('re old enough to) recall the first CD released (Billy Joel) was also issued in LP and cassette. Still it was new and the first, and folks said the same thing about getting new equipment then.

Shit, maybe the album art will be a pop-up booklet.

Seems like they are recording with some guests if you read this:
http://www.spin.com/articles/foo-fig...n=spinfacebook

I hope they don't have guests on the new record. Im afraid it will turn into something like the Sound City album. Sure it was nice music, but it's not a direction want FF to go regarding the music and the making of the album with all these different people.

I just want FF to be FF. No any staring guests coming to leave their mark on a FF record. Maybe im overexaggerating, but im just a little bit worried.

I agree with you here.On a couple of songs at most,if there are indeed twelve songs on the album,ok but no more.I want a FF album here.Hopefully this won't happen as there has already been the sound city album & they won't want to repeat themselves so soon.

I wouldn't take Spin's report as confirmation that there are guests on the new album - Jim Rota has been at every session because (there's every reason to believe) he's doing the video stuff. There are also many reasons Chris Goss could have been at Rancho - it's only Joe Walsh that is the odd-one-out but then since the supplimentary part of the album seems to involve interviewing people in some form (Heart, Paul Stanley, etc) then that could be the reason he was there.
