Default Tour VIP Packages PLEASE!!!!!!!

I think it would be great if on the next tour FFs would offer a VIP package. Give some of the fans a chance to meet the guys like some other bands do. Any thoughts?

That would be great but i don't think the guys would like the idea of charging to meet them though.

Kinda awkward I think.I would much prefer VIP package which includes the following.
Early entry to venue
Front of stage seating or rail spots
Private bar/restroom area
Limited edition tour merch
Maybe set list copy or some other commemorative evening merch.
Did I mention private bar.

This time, I think they really gonna do this. But they won't charge, simply allow or invite!

Last 3 shows, there are some fans that get backstage and catering access.

It's always been like that.

Well I obviously don't know who Chris is talking about so don't know about that but I just meant generally speaking over the years fans have been invited backstage through friends, sponsors or whatever. That's not to say anyone and everyone can or will get invited, I just mean if people do get backstage/VIP treatment it's for free, not something they'll sell.

Two thoughts off-hand...

1. Considering their overall popularity, I'm not sure if those packages would even be that viable (in terms of meet and greets or whatever else that's similar). Everyone would be trying to get one, and even if they made it ridiculously expensive, they'd get criticized for 'selling out' and whatever other things. Why go through that if they've been pretty open and friendly with fans in the past as it is? And like Jill said, I don't see it as really being their style.

2. The "early entry" situation would make me a bit unhappy if I couldn't secure the said package, haha.

That being said, I would definitely get one.

Okay I'm a newbie on the forum. What's that sound "pop" there it's busted. Truth is that I'm old enough to be a parent to most of you guys. I started going to concerts in '70. Here for the last twenty years I've been busy raising kids and trying to figure shit out as a single parent.
Haven't been to too many shows. So I'm just hoping the Foos show up to do Asheville or Charlotte (more likely). I've told my son "Perfect attendance be damned, if they are playing in Charlotte you're just gonna have to miss a day of (high) school. We're going!"
He's a foo fan too!

Me too. I have an 18 and 20 year old. You forget, the band has been around for almost 20 years.

I work in concert marketing. Trust me....you aren't missing out on anything. I'm confused as to why anyone pays $300 to be shoved past a table the band is sitting at, get something signed quickly and then shoved out the door. It's a total ripoff.

I would be in favor of packages that give us stuff we actually want: ticket, t shirt (maybe an exclusive design for the packages only) and something else fun. Exclusive b side download?

I paid a lot for the VIP for Alice In Chains because my oldest was obsessed with Jerry Cantrell. She LOVED it but for me, the money was wasted. I think it depends on the person and what they wanted. He called Megan sweetheart and it was worth the price of admission...to her.

I know people who have gotten some 'Meet and Greets'... The free ones are basically a line where the band members walk by you and sign one item for you... no photos because it is before the gig and their time is limited.
Others were you wait in a line and meet the artist, get a quick picture and something signed, then are ushered off by a mangement person.
They are basically, rip-offs if you pay... if it is for a benefit... then, thank you for your support.
...
Then, you are released and if it is a general admission floor... find a nice spot back by the bar.
...
I think they are bad ideas and i would never buy one.
I'm pretty sure the Foo Fighters would not want to participate in such things. Too much like KIZZ... not enough like Foos.

Someone said recently that they should be called "Pay and Hey" instead because that's essentially all you're getting - forking out a shitload of money for a one-word exchange. That being said, a few bands do go the extra mile by making it a genuine VIP experience - a spot in a "fan pit", backstage after the show, etc. Other than that, they're a real waste of dosh and actually a back-hand from band to fan implying that they're only as valuable as what they can put in the musician's pocket.

I got 2 in their 20s and I'm mid 40s so I think a lot of us on here are roughly the same age and era as the band.
Foofan58 I also went to some great concerts in the 70s.It what helped shape my love for music and concerts now.Concerts of the 70s and 80s smelled so much better than today, lol.
