Default Shredding old Foo shirts

Is it ever ok to shred/cut up an old Foo shirt? My favorite is from the RHCP spring 2000 tour and is so holey, even a tank top won't fix it. The front and back designs both have holes through them so pillows aren't an option. I'm on the fence about cutting it up. It just feels weird to kill my fav Foo shirt. I'd be wearing it to one of the Oct shows though. Anyone done this? Pointers for the non-crafty?

Line it with a same colour tshirt? Not great for the pic parts of shirt but you could still wear it. Wear a long sleeved top underneath? I wouldn't give a monkeys about the holes. I'd still wear it.

Why are you shredding it? I shred old paperwork so people can't take my identity, I'm pretty sure they can't do that from a tshirt

I thought about that, just worried that it will show through. Trying to upload a pic.

I guess people can make them kind of hip. I'd leave the graphics intact, but cut off the sleeves, and create some more holes. Also, not sure if it would turn out. This was pre-women's size concert shirts too.

Keep it, wear a tank top underneath, and call it grunge!
