Would prefer to see Dave and co in front of the Stretford End but any UK stadium would do

Well that theory made more sense when it was less than half a dozen shows, now it seems rather unlikely. They're either funding something bigger, or have just gone "fuck it" and decided to play whenever they like, without an album to promote.

The funding theory did cross my mind. Or Dave has a huge meat bill to pay.

Although I already speculated funding something in the original post I don't think it is the reason for this tour as the tour continues to grow.

There's so much money involved in the Euro tour alone that it cannot solely be about funding a project.

My bet is that its either the DG film and some sort of celebration of his 50th birthday. Hoping for new music too!

The band made $27m this year, according to Forbes. What would they need a whole lot more bones for on top of that?

Maybe they just like getting out in front of 1000's of fans and having a great time and getting paid a big chunk of change at the same time, maybe there is no other reason except loving what they do.All Pat Smear does when he is on stage is laugh and smile through the whole set and who could blame him.I know if I had a note in my head and a fraction of the musical talent of any of them and was getting paid to be the MC at big parties I would be off in a flash.

I've seen a DG documentary mentioned and i'm not so sure about that either. It's all based on an offhand remark made by Virginia around the time of her BIGSOUND conference talk and this is also around the time they began production on the From Cradle To Stage docuseries. It is being filmed as we speak and scenes with Dave have been filmed. I'm fairly confident this is what it (a documentary on his life) was referring to.

I'm surprised it wasn't more tbh.
