Maybe Lorde? Not the biggest pop star in the world, but certainly a rising star. She's got the Nirvana Rock Hall performance and the Bowie stamp of approval.

Biggest pop star in the world? Bieber? or Ed Sheeran or Drake... think those three you'd argue are the biggest current (western) pop stars if you discount people like Swift, Adele etc.

If you aren't talking current then that just opens it up.. Gary Barlow?

Nah, I said one of my first 3 guesses I had was a she. Then I asked and got told whether I was right or wrong.

There's a couple pretty high profile guests that haven't been announced. I'd imagine the other big one will probably be common knowledge as the press cycle for the album heats up.

I can't imagine the secret one will stay secret forever.

Oh and definitely not the Gangam Style dude. Cross him off the list.

I suppose my guess would be an artist like Beyonce or Rhianna, Chris Martin crossed my mind as well.

I have it from a reliable source that it's MC Hammer. No, I'm not joking.

Maybe they'll do a rock-rap song in the vein of Walk This Way for new generations.

Well, Dave's also confirmed a member of Boyz II Men is on this bloody thing, so it's anyone's guess now. Throw in all the names you've got and you'll probably be right. It's like Live Aid.

Putting aside who it actually is for a moment - this all just reminds me how damn impressive it was it got kept such a well held secret, regardless of NDA's

I find it hilarious that there was only one person to publicly "leak" info about the existence of album at all. His name is David Eric Grohl.

Without his blabbing and teasing of songs they would've just dropped 'Run' with total surprise, and then the album announcement. You can't trust anybody these days!

Yeah, all things considered, everyone involved has done exceptionally well at keeping this under their hats. In this social media age, we're all up in each other's business, so it's impressive and I moan about the secrecy sometimes but it does keep things interesting.

On topic, he eliminated Taylor and Katy in the same interview in which he confirmed Taylor G and Shawn.

So I don't actually get how this is really enhancing a swing to Adele - but anyway... what's really funny is that yet again it's most likely to be Dave that blows the secret if anyone does. Going by the way he's talking and what we've seen, the bookies would be offering better odds on guessing who was NOT on the album

http://www.nme.com/news/music/dave-g...-album-2096301

"Dave Grohl has expanded on the rumours that Adele is set to feature on the new Foo Fighters album, ‘Concrete & Gold’.

Speaking to NME, Grohl refuses to confirm or deny the rumours just yet, but he does say that on any given day at LA’s EastWest Studios, “You might have Shania Twain having a record-release party, or the guy from Deep Purple hanging out with Jason Bonham, or Justin Timberlake would be in for a couple of weeks, or Lady Gaga working with these other cats from Nashville. And every so often we’d be like, ‘Hey, wanna come sing some backing vocals?’ and they’d just fucking do it. It was loose and random: everyone was hanging out, drinking whiskey, having a good time. I never went to college, but it’s what I imagine a dormitory’s like.”

The producer behind ‘Concrete & Gold’, Greg Kurstin, has also worked on a number of other huge albums from stars including Adele, Sia and Liam Gallagher.

“Every time I’d bump into him he’d have another gigantic fucking record out, and he’s the most unassuming, reserved guy you’ve ever met,” says Grohl in his NME interview. “You’d be like, ‘Fuck, you wrote that Adele song? You played all the instruments on that? Get the fuck outta here!’”

Does Lin Manuel Miranda count as a "pop star"?

Between Hamilton & Moana and his Grammy and his Tony Awards he's pretty big. Then Dave appeared on his Drunk History ep, Lin tweeted Dave playing drums at a theatre or a cast recording or something so there's a 'connection' of sorts and he also fits the "unexpected" and "sweet" tags Dave gave.
