Default Tour setlists discussion thread

Am I the only one that want to see some covers dropped? I like one or two but 5 is starting to get a bit excessive. Would be much more excited to hear other sutff like Hey JP, Generator, Dear Rosemary..

I tend to agree. It was pretty cool for the Sonic Highways show in Seattle, because it turned a 2.5 hour show to an over 3 hour show. Dave asked if we wanted the standard show, the long show or the really long show. We cheered for really long and the extra covers were the result.

The covers give Dave some vocal rest.

I think the real reason is the covers are crowd pleasers and the band enjoys playing them, every review of the recent shows i've seen loves the cover sessions and thinks they're seeing something unique, not everyone follows their setlists so closely

5 covers is absolutely ridiculous when you have 8 albums out, 1 of which is a double album. If his voice needs a rest do a couple acoustic songs of their own. I can see covers for the price of a pitcher at my local bar.

Yeah...the last 4 or 5 shows I've been to have been a total downer towards the end because of the covers + Times like these, Best of You, Everlong (which I could get rid of as well and switch for something else).

I know the people who go to hear the radio hits would be very disappointed though.

Number of people who will ever be satisfied with the setlist? Zero.

Ugh. Young Man Blues doesn't even really make sense as a voice rester. There's not a lot of singing but when there is he's scream-singing.

I was in the Buenos Aires show yesterday. I enjoyed Detroit Rock City and Under Pressure but 5 covers was pushing it. Low point of the show for me, I love Miss You but I would have enjoyed it if the Foos played it, not some guests who may be legends in their own right but I had no idea who they were... I wanted to see the FF.

I wish they would have played TFATF instead of C, ITC or O, but well, that's just my opinion. Still, only 1 song from ST... at least it was ISA which I hadn't heard last time they were hear.

Other than that, it was an incredible show, long and superb. Loved it, hope they come back soon!

Gonna see them in Slane in May. I'd really hope they bring back Stacked Actors. It's still probably my favourite song of theirs. Also, agreed on the cover versions thing. 5 is taking the piss!

Of your songs to bring back, get rid of Baker Street. It's a cover. Then add all of those songs in place of the current covers and its a great setlist.

I'd like to hear Baker St over the covers they are playing now.
Even bring Have a Cigar back. Play that instead of Cold Day In The Sun if Dave really wants to play drums.

If they ripped out Back in Black like they did with Jack Black on NYE 10 years ago, that would be pretty rad! Or the Angels Am I Ever Going to see your face again

Basically, I'll Stick Around needs to do just that.. stick around on the set. It's been 10 years since they've played that in Aus.

Learn To Fly will certainly not be dropped this tour. It is one of their biggest hits and always gets the crowd going.

I understand what people say about the covers, and I completely agreed until I watched them last night in Porto Alegre. They came from the ground on the b-stage right in front of me and as much as I'd like for them to play Foo songs at that moment I couldn't help but notice how much they were visibly enjoying themselves while playing the covers to the point I didn't care they weren't Foo songs after all.

At this point I think I'm actually looking forward to seeing Royal Blood more. Kinda sad really.

I'd like to see them close with I Am A River, and maybe open with the full band version of Everlong, just to mix it up a bit. And throw some more non-singles from the older albums in there. I'd rather see a two to two and a half hour show with Wattershed in there than a 3-hour with 5 covers. I'm going to watch the Foos after all. It's not a bad thing for new fans to hear old songs they don't know, it's part of the magic of seeing a band live. Pearl Jam are good at keeping the set list fresh, why can't the Foos? It's not like it's a choreographed show like AC/DC.

I went to the show at Morumbi stadium, I was a little disappointed . They only played "the hits"! Not even GENERATOR.
I was expecting "in the clear" (and almost impossible: i am the river and no way back )
