Just the four, and if they don't get rid of the second stage I'm not going.

That online show reaffirmed that the band is still fabulous when they keep it simple.

I like Pat but they worked as a four-piece for 15 years, they can stay that way as far as i'm concerned

If they drop the others, namely strings, they wont be able to continue playing The Pretender and Let it Die. Can you see that happening?

They could easily continue playing both. It wouldn't have the same Dynamic exactly but they could play it.

You can barely hear the Cello on the studio version, they overdo it live in my opinion. I think the song would be better simpler with less parts.

I really hope they've got the Tom Petty phase out of their system.

Dave, Taylor, Pat, Nate and Chris.

Erm.. really? They won't physically be able to play those songs without overbearing strings? You can barely hear them in the studio versions, anyway. I think as long as they keep playing stadiums, they'll keep the extra members, unfortunately. But hey ho, i'll still see them if the come near! Maybe go and get some beers when they play Big Me.

i honestly don't care who's in the band.
a little extra instruments here & there doesn't bother me at all.
and the second stage was pretty convenient for me, cause i was about a foot and a half away from the band which more or less made my LIFE
...so it all worked out terrific in my opinion.

Genius userpic btw!!

I'm in favour of the traditional 4, but I do like the idea of Pat backing up on extra guitar - that's something I wouldn't have a problem with at all.

I totally hear the cello in the studio version of The Pretender. It's kinda difficult to ignore.

Just the core four please.

Also, please go back to smaller arenas (maybe 10,000 tops). I would gladly pay extra for a ticket with fewer people.

In my dreams.

I would be a happy camper if I never had to hear those songs again.

I like Let It Die. It summed up my feelings towards The Pretender quite well in it's title alone.

Do you not like Rock 'n' Roll? o.o

The Foos have, honestly, not changed a whole bunch. Especially compared to other bands that I like, such as Against Me! or The Pillows(gigantic changes over 20+ albums), yet I still love them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxi2-zyUkzk (one of The Pillows's first singles)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwQ8ynOkaUw (one of their most recent)

Gigantic difference in style.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lN6ofLkgEg (one of Against Me!'s first songs)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-p3B9aW8YKk (their most popular video to date)

Again, huge difference in style.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzHBKqSDUI0 (good grief)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxXxOH0IJ3g (cheer up, boys)

Large difference in style, but not as large as the above two. I have no farking clue where I'm going with this, but I guess it's just to show that Foo Fighters hasn't changed much.

It's not important what I think, it is merely important that I know what's best for the band.

I'm pulled for the power trio of Franz, Will, and Petra Hayden

Tell me you wouldn't buy that record.
