Oh yes, Moran is a hero of mine - see him live quite a few times. The guy is a genius, and Black Books is one of my favourites
For Christmas last year I made my sister a t-shirt with his face and 'With a pickle?' written on it.

What I meant is that I get the impression they wont play the sons without the strings in because of the change in dynamic. Obviously they could continue to play both, as well as others that have strings in, without that part but I think that Dave would not want the songs performed without.

You can definitely hear the strings in the studio versions, and if you took them away there would be a noticeable difference. It's not so evident when they play live but, I agree, I think the extra members will stay. Dave seems to like it that way!

I really hope they've got the Tom Petty phase out of their system.

Dave, Taylor, Pat, Nate and Chris.
I disagree and think you can hear the cello. But I would prefer it if they dropped the extra members and went back to the way they were pre-IYH...they seem to overdo it with the extra members!

The same could be said about Generator Live. However it works and is a fully formed song without the voice box. Let It Die will get dropped from the set as it's not a single. Pretender won't for a while as it was the most commercial single from ESPG.

We can hear them, but the average person can't I'd say. I remember saying, cool string section on The Pretender, aye? to my friends, and they were like... What?

But anyway, that's not important

But I get what you mean, i'm hoping this is just one of Dave's phases though, and they will go more bare bones before long.

Quite obviously....Dave, Chris, Taylor, and Nate. Best line up. All that is needed. I like the other people, don't get me wrong. But I am sick of the extended lineup. Just the 4 are more than enough

I would love to see just the core group. Dave, Tay, Nate, and Chris.
But, I do also love when the rest of the group comes out for the acoustic songs.

Classic four - maybe Pat if that's better for Dave's vocals. I wouldn't mind to have Rami, Drew and Jesse on stage for a couple of songs because I've never seen them live and I dig the acoustic songs. Just for a couple songs, not the entire gig. Unless it's an acousting thingy, of course.

I honestly wouldn't mind the acoustic "set" still if they would just play some different songs during it. I know they love using the same setlist over and over again but you would think with all the songs they have to choose from the acoustic set would maybe be a place where they could experiment or rotate some.

Yeah, I'd love to have a conversation with him haha.

Lots of people diss the extra members of the touring band, but does anyone want them to stay?

I like the stripped down Foos with Pat on third guitar. I think that's their best lineup.

I like the extra musicians on certain songs, but I would definitely like to see the band dig into their catalog as opposed to just playing hits, current album-specific songs, and the token acoustic song(s). I feel that can keep a tour interesting and stimulating. I would love to see a double headliner with STP, even though I doubt it will happen. Since I was NOWHERE NEAR the Talk Show/Foo Fighters tour, this would be amazing enough.
