I always try to give covers of this song a little slack because it's really fucking hard to pull off properly and usually the ones that are merely "not very good" stand head and shoulders over all the ones with the awful timing.

In lieu of actually telling you what I think, I will just say "Nice Roots reference!" and we'll leave it at that, OK?

he's the board administrator, knows everyone in the band plus crew. if you're really going into the "I bet you don't know *insertfoobandmemberhere*" you won't beat him exchanging e-mails with Dave Grohl. nice try, though.

ah, not a bad cover, but far from good also. learning the lyrics usually brings some credibility.

at what point did you think it would be a good idea to play this in front of people?

NO.

I'd say the number one thing working against you here is a shitty audio mix. Sounds like there's some considerable post-prod. noise removal going on, it kills the instrumentation and takes all of the presence out of your vocals.

...but it would also help if you tuned the guitar and sang on key.

Don't get me wrong. I've done the band thing (I'd love to do it again), I understand stage pressure or w/e when you're doing a song for the first time.

But I never ever felt comfortable playing Foo Fighters on stage unless I had practiced to it to the point of knowing it backwards. Specifically to avoid butchering like this. :/

I'm a firm believer in the simple mathematical principle that 0 is still greater than negative 1, no matter how you slice it.

When I have something I feel holds up and is worth sharing, I promise youll be alerted to it. In the meantime? I win because I have that filter

Awful in every single way... especially in the "singing the wrong words" bit.

Gosh. Harsh comments. But you shouldnt put your shit out there if you dont want to know what people think. Cause when you get hateful about it it makes you look like youre 14. Not cool.
