Havent posted much as I'm job hunting, living off savings.

So here is a few months Foo shopping on a budget (for me anyway).

What can you do? (If U No Foo)... subtle two-sided "No" joke (AKA sledgehammer wrapped in lemon peel) LOL

Zombie Yeti (AKA Jeremy Packer) himself noting the link between last years Metro posters and 2018 Wrigley.

I'd already seen Jeremy's link between Metro and Wrigley (um right lol).
But at $150 and $250 plus for std and foil Wrigley variants and not currently working I was on a strict bargain only purchase hunt.
So my gig and foil Metro prints were gonna have to wait for matching Wrigley friends. Oh well - shit happens.

Mid October within 3 days:

$49.99 Buy now (yes Ok they were $20 at the show but seriously everything else on EB is $100 plus - new seller just turning over $20 for profit).
Bought as soon as I saw it (hunting posters by date - it had been listed around 15 minutes). And it's:

Gig 30 of 750

This one hung around some time - creased foil, so nobody was too keen. Was $200, then 150, then 100.
Had something extra for me as it was number 17, which well - check my posts lol.

So at 100 I offered $80, counter offer was 90. SOLD.

Creases arent bad at all. will largely frame out. Damn print itself is creased everywhere by design lol.

Crazy to turn maybe one day at $150 + $200 ish into both done at $140, but it just proves how massively "fluid" (or fucked up if you like lol) the market can be.

I need to add too that I went for the artist variant on the foil, NOT the gig foil. I work like that a lot - ensure I get a gig variant on the standard poster and then "A" foil.

Gig foils are always initially pricey (definitely more desirable), but longer term hold value less better, as both increase.

It's knowing which is which that enables good decisions and that in itself can be a mind fuck, especially in short timeframes lol

AE Foil 17 of 25 (Find the $160 price reduction creases LOL)

I bought this negative slide in March. UK official promo shoot - most notible for the fact it's a super large 90mm film negative used for posters etc.

Paid just under 20.00 for it and was very happy to snag it.

Same seller quietly slid out another one 6 months later from the same shoot - saw it less than a day B4 it ended - snagged for GBP 6.40

Dave: I think this could become a band...

Band: I think we'll all sign our names in full for now just in case... (the fact that NEVER happens now is a dead giveaway too lol)

Very early 1995 promo card fully band signed. OK not really a budget item at $80.00, but value is definitely higher, as is official complete promo item (including Willy).

Just bought this today. Splurge I simply couldn't resist. Seller massively solid in every respect - dozens of signed band items going back decades - obviously unloading an archive - one FF item... cheaper than the Cure - um OK, go figure.

UK The One Promo Press Advert - I have no idea how I've never seen this - maybe it was just a super short run, and/or maybe Ive missed back then in 2001/2 when I was doing Foo stuff by myself and everyone was here talking about ALL THESE VARIANTS.

But here you go - proof of competitions, and formats for THE ONE:
3 Inch CD
Std CD
Tape T-Shirt Poster
7 Inch Vinyl (we know this "One")
10 Inch Vinyl
12 Inch Vinyl

Plus the competitions etc they were to be won in.

Anyway - UK advert I've never seen - GBP 3.50

It's a shame all of the winners/owners never came forward. Only the 7" and standard CD, as far as I've ever seen. Both of them on here, although the 7" was sadly lost somewhere inside Wembley Arena when the owner passed it to be signed. I've never seen anyone show the other versions though. Wonder where they are.

When was the 7" lost? I thought that was safely in a board members hands, (name escapes me but used the 7" as avatar?) all fully signed?

It's on discogs as owned.
https://www.discogs.com/Foo-Fighters...elease/3965254

I may well be missing something in memory of posts I've seen vs posts that came later here though...

I deff never saw anything on the CD owner - so that's nice to know there was some history on that.

This (advert re the releases) actually just arrived today - some kind of UK trade print I'm not familiar with as it's deff old, single page, but a chunk bigger than I expected.

I desperately want to do a FF.com Store shout out reply to April's post and scream "Collect Them All!" Where collect any info you can about any one in 20 years is a total mission...

SK - FYI In public...
Great post re the 2018 CK museum - Dave deff has the first gig now then... so many questions left re that and other tape items...

There's an old book in those images in the cases...

Here a long time back I noted at some point not being able to resist buying a book called Smokey Stover: The Foolish Foo Fighter. I never really considered it anything more than just a fun throwaway...

But the pics screamed WTF - IN the museum case? Double WTF??

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smokey_Stover
Theres a section there re Foo Fighters - and a ref to the band out of almost respect one way (book to later band) - but no refs at all in reverse

There is a cover band on YT - actually rather good in parts...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIzmRJUsSxY

So just why/what/how (much)/when does this name actually now have direct relationship to the band from past (and we are talking literal 1930's Daisy Disintegrator era) to present, where it causes it to be in Dave's version of a 2018 Foo Fighters museum?

And...
The Disintegrator Dave has is DEFINITELY NOT the original used to make the album. Could have been bought soon after - or any time since. How I know is that Tim Gabor managed all the art work, and RENTED the gun from the owner, keeping photographic copies of the crazy fact that the owner refused a payment of $200 deposit for the time it was loaned, SENDING BACK Tim's check and letter (Dated 29th March 1995 stating we need it for three weeks at most), with handwritten comments on the sent (and then returned original) letter saying:
"Received gun back in good condition
returning check
(Owners Name)
- SEND ME A FEW COVERS WHEN FINISHED -"

Been asked specifically on this not to share the photos but the evidence is irrefutable. Dave held THE gun in a bar (never photographed, though the one of him "in shot" exists as I have posted, with a few other shots at same time/place, not including Dave, also existing) and a few times at the actual cover shoot (where Tim is pretty sure everyone was way too busy to take pictures other than those needed for the cover).

In other news - I've just bought the original set of printers proofs for front/back/insert of the 12" US 1995 vinyl, CD and front back ISA 12 inch. These go with same for US cassette I bought a few years ago. Dave has one of the four negatives (shown in museum pics) that were used to create the cassette proof). Printers would have made one of each proof (from 4x negs), confirmed and then probably destroyed. Tim had one duplicate of each made for himself. These are therefore Rough Mixes tape equiv... and then some items. The negs still no doubt exist, but will prob not have been released to Dave while still under shared license - the cassette can/has been as they are no longer manufactured.

More detail on all that when I finish up the post still to go in the Shit/Cry thread re the first album. Just really wanted you to be clear on the gun thing - though I totally get you used the words "what appears to be the original Buck Rodgers XZ-38 Disintigrator, used on the cover of the first record." That's definitely not the case.

Really cheap.

As well as buying the stuff in my post a few above, I've also bought the Sonic Highways Puzzle that's appeared on the store again - waiting on delivery on that one.

Yeah I think I may have mixed things up. I cannot find any of the conversations now for some reason but I definitely remember talking to someone who told me he won a Vinyl copy, took it to one of the Wembley Arena shows to get signed as per the competition prize and then it got lost somewhere in there when he gave it to a Sony rep to take to the band. It must've been the 10" or 12". He said they gave him some other signed merch to make up for it, but obviously nothing would make up for losing a 1of1 item.

I also thought I remembered Sophie here being the CD winner, but maybe i'm misremembering that as well.

P.S. Will respond to the meatier part of your post soon, when I have more time.

I was the winner of the 3" disc, there were two other winners at the same gig, the 10" & 12" vinyls, I got sent the All My Life 0001 7" vinyl to make up for the disc being lost!

I did say to Simon but that was probably 4-5 years back.

Ahh right from me too - I now indeed remember the same discussion, or at least it coming up again - when there various WTF comments and head scratching (on all sides) about how I could possibly have bought the AML 0001 7 inch as someone (joeyoss) had it from Dave.

With several of the diff no#d run in my collection, I'm still very confident mine hasn't been "faked", either changed from another number or created, and the really old great stuff the person I got it from had left me very very confident (sealed AUS TIAC cassette single etc).

My guess still is they are both real and either a sample one was made for Dave (or management archive) at the start of the run, or they were still able to make another "one" at the time. Probably the former. Yet another chunk of Foo mystery history.

So yes we have covered the other The One formats (at least a bit then). I had a feeling there was more discussion at some point - but that it never resulted in anyone else actually still owning any of them - except this one that Stuart Neale still owns (NirvStu), that I'm sure is a test pressing for the final 7".

https://www.discogs.com/Foo-Fighters...elease/7635746

And I've just realised I'm an idiot - he sent me a full backup of his old site before it became defunct - and it has his old page on that test press still in it... with what he knew back in the early 00"s (head slap):

http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~xphile/The%20One.png

EDIT:
Just also noticed -
According to the advert - The One 3" CD and MC - were both Kerrang! W/C 8th April. Leaves me wondering if the same "disappearance" maybe happened to them both.
