Default Post Concert Depression?

Is there a clinical term for the cycle of emotions I have experienced after attending my 1st Foo Fighter show? Maybe PFFCS (post Foo Fighter concert syndrome)? I have been a fan for a long time and waited soooo long to see them. The Pittsburgh show was my first live Foo Fighter show and the best experience, it far exceeded my expectations. I was on top of the world immediately afterward and felt like that for days. It's over two weeks later now and I feel like I need another dose of live Foo and I am not going to be satisfied until I get it.

There is! After the most recent show I went to, I was on a high for days afterwards. but then, I started to feel down. I don't know when they'll come back to Minnesota again (hopefully soon!).

So I guess the only remedy is to go to another show? Sounds like the best prescription I've ever heard of!

I already told everyone in my circle to expect me to be totally depressed days after the Charlotte show. I know it is going to happen. I think it is just because you wait so long, and look forward to it so much that when it is over, you have nothing to spaz about anymore!!

I know exactly how you feel, the few days after any concert are always bittersweet for me. However, I have yet to see Foo Fighters live :0

It doesn't help when the show far exceeds expections....I think that's why I want more! It's either that or the fact I am just never satisfied
I am really glad to hear there are others that feel the same as I do, though.

I'm trying to plan my week around that very problem (no matter how many gigs I go to, I still feel varying degrees of post-gig blues). Here's how that week in December is shaping up so far:

Sunday - Fly to Adelaide
Monday - FF at Adelaide Oval
Tuesday - Fly back to Newcastle
Wednesday & Thursday - Work, depending on what the roster looks like
Friday - FF at Sydney Football Stadium
Saturday - Work
Sunday - Back to Sydney for a meet-up for another fandom

Just got out of the Denver show 2 hours ago and I'm already ready for more. Felt great but sorta sad when I got home. How do you top that?? I was so close to them, though. Surreal!

I am going to see FF two nights in a row at The Forum in L.A. I've been waiting since springtime and memorized the entire album.

Thanks for the Post FF Concert Syndrome warnings. Real life will be a letdown after two shows, right?

Wow! Two nights in a row????? Very Lucky.......if you have even half as good a time as I did at the Pittsburgh show you won't be able to stand it afterward....I am so jealous. Have fun.

Let me know if you need help coping after the back to back shows....may I suggest filling your auto's CD changer with nothing but Foo Fighters to start? Definitely helps me during my hour long commute to work and back

I can completely relate. I have a week in November that looks similar, and in way I'm glad it's so busy because I'll be too tired to get depressed:

Friday - Local concert for a different band
Saturday - Fly to New York
Sunday - FF at MSG
Monday - Train to New Jersey for FF in Newark
Tuesday - Fly home from Newark
Wednesday - Work then FF in Boston
Friday - Go to work thoroughly exhausted and probably hung over
Saturday - Local concert for a different band
Sunday - Family function
Monday - Work then local concert for a different band
Tuesday - Sleep and begin post Foo blues

Hey!

Post concert depression is awful. I think we all had it after the Milton Keynes shows aswell!

Oh well! The only thing to do is hope for the guys to do more shows in 2012 so that we can have something to look forward to

My first day back at work since the Denver show, and am nursing my foo funk by wearing my lovely new top (aka t-shirt). Paired with a nice suit and some pearls - not too shabby, and it is making me feel a whole lot better about my inbox.

Great approach, I will have to try that for work tomorrow.

This thread is all I've been thinking about this week!

I'm super worried, as this is what I'm in for:

Friday: FF in Melbourne
Saturday: FF in Melbourne
Sunday: My birthday
Monday: Fly to Adelaide, FF in Adelaide
Tuesday: Fly back to Melbourne
Wednesday: Pack my bags
Thursday: Fly to Sydney, FF in Sydney
Friday: Fly to Gold Coast
Saturday: FF in Gold Coast

I'm going to be so used to seeing them every couple of days, the depression is gonna hit me like a brick wall!
