I'm still surprised there has been zero commentary from the band on the demos being leaked.

I'm going to be playing a few tracks on my friends radioshow tomorrow. It's the college radio for the Orlando area. I will be playing a MDD

Oh and about New Wave / White Limo,

Im pretty sure I heard them play it in a soundcheck in 2002, so it COULD be the same song that got scrapped in 2001 aswell..

We should all code a virus and hack twitter and put it on their servers so that everyone that visits downloads the virus and the virus will search their computer for the demos and upload it to mediafire.

Didn't someone have a 20 second clip of this mystery song . . . I seem to remember it had a Have It All type vibe to it, but in a higher register and a more pounding beat . . . I don't know what it was, but it wasn't White Limo. Am I crazy for remembering this?

Interesting. What makes me question it is that you would assume the song they played in 2001 at Paladino's had lyrics, but if it was an early 'White Limo' they must have been completely different to the lyrics of the WL song. But if it did have lyrics then why scrap it and then re-release a decade later?

The demo version on the IYH DVD doesn't sound too far off the WL version, just not quite as beefy.

Where is that invite to the room in 606 with the master reels when you need it?

I don't recall anything like that at all.

Youre right - the New Wave song probably is different than whatever evolved into White Limo. Also, Dave didnt sing in the version I heard in 2002, so I cant comment on the lyric / melody thing either.

Plus, I may remember wrong altogether, its just that after hearing White Limo I immediately thought "oh this is the song I heard them jam on..".

On the IYH DVD it sounds as the version is from a rehearsal, not a recording.

Yeah that's what I mean. The guy in the other thread said he heard what became White Limo in a 2003 soundcheck and it obviously didn't have any lyrics then either. He had no reason to lie about that either, given that he posted about it in 2008, so of course didn't know it was 'White Limo' then.

I always assumed the song we hear on the IYH DVD is from the same practice session as the video of the first version of the song IYH later in the doc, it sounds quite similar.

But still, what we know:

- A song titled 'New Wave' was on the setlists for two shows in 08/2001.
- That song may have been played at one of them, but we have no reports of what it sounded like.
- The jam heard on the IYH documentary is an early version of White Limo.
- A roadie said that the jam was then known as 'New Wave'.

When did 'New Wave' first appear as a working song title? The 08/2001 shows, or earlier?

Actually, we have.

"Dave was complaining that it was too hot, and he needed water. A minute later the waitress brought up 4 shots of something pinkish-red. No clue what it was. Dave downed it and then quipped, 'Yeah, great, right before the new one. Fucking wonderful.' New Wave: a bitchin' new one. Heavy, with a badass riff."

The 'New Wave' title first appeared on a whiteboard in the TINLTL recording sessions.

I have many old annotations i did with old posts from the board, fan sites and people i used to chat circa 1999~2003. This quote is from the road notes from the Blackbox, i think.

I still have descriptions and photos of the Paladino's and Troubador shows somewhere.

I think I remember what you mean actually, was it the intro in the short video that came before "Tighter and Tighter" called "how to make a rock n roll record" or words to that effect? It was a wmv posted on the home page...

I remember thinking it sounded alright, but someone confirmed later that it was an apple loop or something. Will try to track this down.
