I remember seeing the pics of you at Sound City when Dave was there too
Sound City is obviously incredible, with all types of history. The two stories that stand out to me, other then Nirvana, would be Michael Jackson rehearsing in the live room (Gayle Levant, who played harp on our record, shared this experience with us), and the Beatles rehearsing in the Sound City space, which at the time was a VOX warehouse. If I'm not mistaken, the Beatles were in town and basically practiced, using the amplifiers in the warehouse. The wildest thing about Sound City is it's location. If any of you ever get the chance to stop by Van Nuys, you are in for a surprise haha.. it's the most random area to be the home of a historic studio

Thanks dude! The girls are definitely cute, and they were a pleasure to work with. Most of them actually didn't even have video experience. Their open-mindedness and willingness to try it out and have a good time played a huge role in the deal we have today. Amazing. I'm a fan of the cute one on the left (looks a bit like Jennifer Love Hewitt) at the beginning. She's told me, "my boyfriend wouldn't like that" a number of times.. haha

thanks a lot for your info's!
Cheers, Rodrigo. That's a great observation, didn't even notice that. Dave played the hi-hat on every song, perhaps it was being swapped out when that shot was taken.

This'll be cool
Sound City shared a couple of photos on their facebook in mid June from the Fairfax Recordings facebook, along with the RDGLDGRN facebook. Quite an honor to now be part of the Sound City family. I'm not sure if you'll see us in any of the footage Dave took at Sound City.. it would be pretty ridiculous, considering we were becoming a part of the Sound City alumni at the time!

Hey Ryan! Thanks for the kind words brother.. Simon is right, it stands for Red Gold Green. Back when we quit our jobs to try to push our band back in October of 2011, we needed to come up with a band name. We thought of so many different names, but nothing was really sticking. It also didn't feel right for us to have a name like Vampire Weekend, or Foo Fighters, or anything really that sounds like a traditional band name. We were already colors and that's what we call ourselves, that's what our friends call us.. it's become who we are, so we decided to merge the two. It's great when people ask us what our band name is when we're in an airport or anywhere on the road. Typically these people find out who we are individually before they find out that we are a band.

As far as the no vowel thing is concerned, we didn't like the way "RED GOLD GREEN" looked and we were into the idea of having a name that looks like html code because it's different and also unique in the sense that you will ONLY find us when you search on google.

Hey guys, we're going to fly out to LA for the premier of the Sound City Film on the 31st. Definitely looking fwd to it, along with the Sound City Players at the Hollywood Palladium! In DC right now, it's cold as hell and the heat in our house is actually dead.. so we're definitely happy to be visiting our second home in LA

Basically our EP comes out on February 12th. Right around the corner! Album is still scheduled to come out in the Summer. We're planning to perform at some festivals in London, along with other European dates in May. Other than that, we have Warped Tour this Summer.

i was intrigued by the q's and the discussion that i had to join it. i've seen other posts on message boards online. they were a bit too masturbatory for me, i didn't really have any business commenting or answering anything. glad to be here

That is correct. Credit to Clif Norrell on the mix, Serban Ghenea on the master. Check out both Clif and Serban online, particularly allmusic, they've worked on a ton of stuff over the years. Truly an honor to work together!

I'm a bit bummed.

The EP isn't released here on itunes in the Netherlands.

Anyone know where else I can buy it?

In the UK Amazon have it as being released on Monday. I don't know if it's on itunes here, I don't use it.

Scratch my last post.

It's available since today.

Purchased them a couple of hours ago. Been listening to the tracks on and on.

Great songs, and some cool, different drumming from our hero.

Can't wait for the album to come out. RDGLDGRN kick ass!
