Default New I'll Stick Around demo from summer 94!

The demos just keep rolling out at the moment. Barrett just uploaded this to the LRS website, a radio broadcast from 1994.

http://laundryroomstudio.com/

Click on jukebox and play the first thing to 26:30. I believe this be from either June or July of 1994 when Dave went to record some new songs. He did at least this, 'This Is A Call' and 'Oh, Geroge'.

If this was broadcast back in 1994 I can't believe it was never recorded and surfaced back then! Thanks Barrett!

It starts at 26:00. Weird. Must have barely made a ripple, because no one's ever talked about this airing.

Who knows, maybe 7 Corners aired sometime and no one even knows. LOL.

According to Jones, ISA had no title, it was just titled an unpronounceable symbol. New music, new trivia.

Ha, maybe. How 'big' was this station in the area? Really amazing this went totally noticed.

'Hooker' is also pretty...interesting.

It's been one of the biggest rock stations in Seattle for decades. But the new music shows usually aired late at night.

listening to this and this pretty much sounds like the album version save for that weird ding noise in the album version. Interesting that this has gone unnoticed for all these years.

Pat Smear is actually an android. During one memorable show in England he short circuited, electrocuting Dave whose hair then caught fire

Chris: "You guys, I couldn't hear myself out there."
Dave: "We all heard ya, man."
Taylor: "Yeah, we heard you just fine."
Chris: "Oh. Well, ok..."

I always end up preferring demo versions of songs!

There is something about hearing the rawness of a new track, the artist just laying down their heart in it's purest form, it always captures something that ends up missing from the final recording. I mean I love both versions - but there is something special to me about demos in general.

Just me?

Completely agree with you on that. That's one of the reasons i'm waiting for the MDDs so bad. Even if the MDDs are not real demos, the songs are not overworked and i love that.

That's exactly what the MDDs are, which is why they were scrapped. The band felt they were so produced and clinical that it didn't sound like them.

When i say "not overworked" i'm referring to the construction of the songs and some harmonies that you can't find or barely ear on the one by one version.
I find Lonely as You so much powerful on the leaked part, even with all the pro tools shit.

Agreed. Especially demos from earlier in Dave's career, it's great to hear those early song's development.

That really is the problem with them, I get people preferring the two songs that are much more uptempo and a different style, but those songs just sound forced and sterile
