Postage is really expensive for thick and heavy stuff so I'd just want anything smallish and flat. Maybe some packets of bath salts or seasoning/ salad dressing mixes from your country (nothing containing meat or it probably won't make it through customs). It is cold out now so chocolate is probably safe, too.

I don't think weight makes that much of a difference, for our mail at least. Unless you ship it in an envelope, not a box. Otherwise I think anything up to 2 kilos is around the same price.

Maybe we should include emails too.

People could always send an electronic gift card.

What are you all comfortable with limit wise? I'll put it in the original post.

I think $10-20

That should be reasonable for these economic times.

I've got 18 people on my list thus far (counting those that haven't PMd me, but are on the list Mars made in the other thread).

That kind of defeats the object of secret santa, surely? Then it'd just be 'Buy each other gift cards'.

Better yet, "Buy yourself a gift card, call it a day."

I think so too, but if my Secret Santa REALLY wants one....?

Nah! Still won't do it. The fun is in receiving something in the mail.

I thought a week from now would be good. I put Nov 8th in the original post. That way you have three weeks to shop since they need to be sent out early December. There are a couple people whose gifts need to be sent earlier too.
