Default Them Crooked Vultures' Sophomore Album?

I love that Wasting Light will be coming out in six days, but I remember hearing on the radio, last year, that Dave Grohl, Joshua Homme, and John Paul Jones were already hard at work on the second Them Crooked Vultures album. Does anyone know what's up with it, whether it's still in the works, or on hold, or completely scrapped?

They've got some things going, but it might be a while with FF and Qotsa releasing records and touring and something about John doing an opera. I read something where JPJ said he'd crash a FF show to get them back in the studio or something like that so I would definitely expect a second album. Seriously, if JPJ wants to make a record with you, who are you to refuse him?

If there's a new Queens of the Stone Age album this year too, then I can wait for the second Them Crooked Vultures one. And, of course, as old as every Led Zeppelin album is, neither of them will ever get old - because they're that phenomenal!

I saw TCV last summer, and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen! Amazing how JPJ can deliver so much, I mean, he isn't 20 anymore...

And it was awesome to see Dave behind the drums again

I hope they will release a new album

TCV is epic. It really is the essence of rock (at least how I think it should be). They are definitely my second favorite band. Their second album is in the making and I cannot wait for their next tour. I saw them at the Aragon and it was honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen. I think it won best rock show at the Grammy's too if I'm not mistaken.

I can't wait is all I'm gonna say, though I hope I see another Queens disc first. Them Crooked Vultures are great though and I can't wait to hear how they evolve.

It seems very healthy that Foo has so many outlets, like TCV and Queens and Coattail Riders, et al-
This is what some of the epic rock bands shoulda done back in the day-
to keep everyone happy campers and to stay kinda Fresh!
cheers:>

Yeah, I can't wait to see what "TCV" come up with next. They've got me interested in "Queens Of The Stone Age" actually. I ordered Songs For The Deaf.

I think most of it is done, I read somewhere that they have a lot of songs that didn't make the cut for the first album, so many songs that would make another record. so when they get back to studio is probably to rework ideas that might have gotten old and try a few new ones, so with this MO is likely that we have a new album rather quickly when they get back to work on this project.

and I totally agree with statements above saying that if it includes Highway 1 it's already the best rock album ever. bring it on!

I think we'll wait at least a year and a half for new TCV. Homme said 'Our record will be done by the end of the year'. FFs tour, which gonna be a long one + qotsa new stuff and promoting it...Year and a half is an optimistic assumption.

qotsa new album will be out at the end of this year or early next year, they will tour at least for the whole 2012. I doubt we'll see a new them crooked vultures album before 2013.

Imagine how awesome it would be if they gave the next TCV the analog/garage treatment...

Not sure I would be sold on a TCV analogue album could be great, though might not be the right sound for them. However I do agree that it could be at least 2 years before we see another album. But we have the WL tour and the new QOTSA album to hold us over so we will be fine.
