Some of us need to give notice before taking time off work, and even then there is no guarantee of getting train tickets at short notice on the East Coast line. Add a hotel on for the night and you could be looking at £300+ for a day trip to London.

The real question is why they felt they couldn't spread the 4 gigs across the country. When in Scotland they always mention how one of their greatest gigs was at The Barrowlands yet it obviously wasn't great enough for them to travel north of London.
Ok. Controversial first post but.....maybe the Foo's did look at that map and thought......nay.

They came over to play a big outdoor gig in London. They've got a new album out and so they've obviously got a lot of media stuff that they are obligated to do. They thought they'd chuck in some local shows. I don't see the problem. As you've already pointed out yourself....look at the map. The main thing for them really is the big Sunday gig, they hardly want to be travelling up and down the country. It's hardly like they're missing out the North on a world tour.

Am I right that they played a bit from the new album? Sorry if this has been discussed only just got home.

Such a crazy and epic gig.

Good solid set too, I'm pleased that barely any IYH and ESPG made it through as the other albums tracks sound much better live. New way home is my favourite song so happy to hear that too. I don't think I'll ever get to hear aurora mind you
So glad you had a great time! I think it was just Simon as you as far as the people I know.
Ive heard Aurora twice live I think. Amazing!

If anybody else is lucky enough to have a spare please PM me, I'm having to do some serious grovelling to the fiancée because of only being able to get the one (which I really can't sacrifice no matter how much I love her!!!)
Would make the trip from Yorkshire worthwhile!

Will pay face plus an admin fee!

I went down last night in work clothes. I managed to find the back entrance to HOV which is in a private bit accessible car park.

Band showed up in two silver people carriers at 4:50pm so I walked across to see them. Dave walked straight into the venue and gave me a wave. Nate said hi but couldn't help with a ticket. I'm so upset about these shows - I have no right to be, but I was so hopeful of getting a ticket to at least one of the shows.

It used to be as easy as chatting to one of them. Now it's basically impossible.
