How about Dave and Taylor drumming together like what Melvins do? Could be interesting! They have enough guitarists to cover Dave now...

I thought it was Dave, not even once I considered Taylor himself since he doesn't seem like a tech savvy kinda dude. =P

met Gus briefly last year during the south american tour craze, very intimidating yet sweet and very polite dude. didn't strike me as a viable suspect behind the Hair Twitter, nice surprise.

Not like they've never done it before, either.

Dual drum kits were part of the set around TCATS era. I remember it from '98 at least...

A whole album with dual drums though? Not just one song at the beginning of the set here and there...

I think a live album in one take is still the most likely

Exciting but also I find it a bit unnerving. I don't want them to rush stuff anymore, I thought they had learned their lessons by taking decent time off after ESPG and then producing their best album in over 10 years.

I'm with you, Bro.

The best work takes time. They've barely taken a breath from all the Sound City madness.

It think Taylor said New album by Christmas next year perhaps sooner? I think it sounds like they will take their time.Won't worry until there is something to worry about. If the word jazz is mentioned, then I will worry!lol!

Dont worry about jazz. Queen - Jazz was a decent album.

I just don't want them to go back to the route of pumping albums with a load of filler.

Dave - if you're reading - take your time, man. We'll appreciate you all the more for it.

They're taking at least the same amount of time this time than they did with Wasting Light (we don't really consider Sound City as a FF project, do we?).

The ESPG tour finished with Wembley in 2008. The guys went out and did their own thing for 2 years before re grouping for WL. When I spoke to Dave in July 2010 - he was still out with the vultures - he said to me that he was excited the foos were getting back together in October because he hadn't seen them "for two fucking years". He even joked that at least one of them would have gone grey in that time.

The WL tour ended at Reading Festival less than 12 months ago and they are already back in the studio. And they were touring the sound city stuff together in-between (ok not as FF but still all together and out on the road for a month or two). Not quite the same amount of time apart.

I think you've got a point that it'd be nice for the Foo Fighters to take a longer break from each other. On the other hand, Dave is constantly writing songs and I don't know if the hiatus has any influence on the songwriting process. If I think of songs like Rope (one of the best songs in years in my opinion); it had already been written and played in jams on the ESPG tour.
