Default Column by some Dutch guy

Some Dutch guy wrote a column about Dave's ''rant' during the ITunes gig.
Here's the link for the Dutchies, I'll translate for the others:

Dave's show
For a couple of weeks now I've been getting riled up about a clip on the internet. Everyone keeps sending it to each other and they're all falling over each other to praise it. What's it about?

Dave Grohl, singer for the Foo Fighters is doing a gig, and suddely stops playing. There's a fight happening in the venue. Dave speaks to the fighting guy.

This is what he says: “Hehehehehe!!! You don't fucking fight at my show you asshole. Let me see him, who's fighting right now? It's that guy in the stripped shirt. Hey motherfucker look at me, get the fuck out of my show right now. I don't put up with that bullshit - you people came here to have a good time and that guy can fuck off. You don’t come to my show and fight. You come to my show and fucking dance, you asshole.” (note, these spelling errors are by the author, all others are mine)

Grandpa Sideburns
So King Pathetic Dave Grohl says. He boots someone out of the venue, like some Grandpa Sideburns. Rock 'n Roll can't sink any lower. A singer for a band, who acts like a common neighbour who threatens to cut up your footbal if it lands in his yard one more time.

Dave is like a PVV'er (PVV is a Dutch nationalist/semi-racist political party). Own venue first. You can dance to his shitty music, or get the hell out.

Lunchbox
I've seen the clip numorous times. If anyone should be hit in the neck with a Gibson, it's Dave Grohl. Preventative if need be. This is only the beginning.

Within half a year, all you'll see at Foo Fighter gigs are people with neatly ripped jeans and a Foo Fighters lunchbox under their arm, listening to the Foo Fighters, scared to death. Any movement can be one too many.

Two things amaze me. The rehearsed show given by Grohl, and the ease with which everyone accepts this as thruth. When you look at the clip, a couple of things stand out. The camera crew knows what's about to happen. The close-ups are too good and the switches to the venue are overthought.

The house lights come on instantly, so they can get good shots. When Grohl stops with his speech, he gets an ovation. During the applause, the camera makes a 'Once Upon a Time in the West'-like movement to the roof of the venue. It's comepletely clear: the director knew beforehand what was going to happen.

Significant
Nobody seems to listen to what Grohl is really saying. He's talking about 'HIS show', which is significant. Grohl appearantly isn't playing with a band, it's 'his show'.
The word alone. Show. And that last sentence. Dancing to the Foo Fighters? Who even wants to dance during a concert? Dancing, that's something you do by the sea, with the guys from Blof looking at you from the dunes (referring to a song by the Dutch band Blof, 'Dancing By the Sea').

The fighting guy probably had two typical concert goers behind him, those infuriating guys who discuss their vacation snap shots during the concert. I myself have heard this sentence being screamed behind me during an Underworld concert: 'No, we're taking the kids to southern Germany with the caravan this year!'.

King Goody Two Shoes
Dave Grohl at this time embodies everything that went wrong in rock 'n roll. He's King Goody Two Shoes with the air of a pophero. His hair always flares a little too over-thought to the left. The sickening gushing about his old heros and his insane preaching when ever he has more than seventy people in front of him.

Dave Grohl was drumming in Nirvana for years. I saw them perform during 'Ein Abend In Wien', about 15 years ago (note from me: Cobain died little over 17 years ago!). The gig lasted about 15 minutes. After that, Kurt Cobain wrecked the stage. Dave Grohl sat behind Cobain for years. Every night his drums got trashed. Roadies unexpectedly got a guitar in their necks from Kurt. I never heard Dave complain about busted drumskins in that time.

Dave now wants you to dance and have a great evening. Where did it go wrong....

I ofcourse completely disagree with this piece of trash writer (who also is a failed musician who became a columnist and 'poet').
But I figured it would be fun to post.

To me it seems like a cheap attempt to get attention.

It might have been a different thing to only speculate if the whole thing was staged (though the camera angles seemed far from rehearsed, you only got a quick glimpse of someone being dragged through the masses); but his piece there is so over the top that it can't be taken seriously.

He calls 'Dave's' music shitty, making the whole statement biased from the beginning. If you read between the lines he comes across like a total prick that defines rock'n'roll as the pleasure of fighting during concerts.

totally agree. how dare he throw anyone out, how utterly non-punk.

love the comparison of smashing guitars & drumkits and a guy picking fights with other people too. same thing, totally.

Those who can, do.

Those who can't...review.

Seems to me this dude is more unhappy with his own pathetic life. Don't give him any attention, and he'll fade into his rightful place in obscurity just like all the other reviewers whose names no-one will remember.

I replied to his piece by saying he should go to a Slipknot concert wearing a Green Day T-shirt.
And stand in the mosh pit.
And wonder how much he misses Grohl when he gets the shit kicked out of him.
By the way, sorry for my horrible spelling in the first post, I'll fix it.
My mom was waiting for me to finish, and while I was translating, she kept talking to me.
Multi-tasking is one thing, but that could not be done...

And @ Eline6: WHO THE HECK IS YOUZZZ?!?

I'm a noob on My morning jacket's forum and I shared the link to the video and some of them also started saying it was staged. For a second I thought, "OMG am I one of those blinded obsessed fans who can't see the truth?!?!"

Yes I'm obsessed, but not blind, and clearly there's no point in staging this bullshit.

Also the level of vitriol is totally unnecessary, I think. It's not even clever, it's just a lazy, frustrated rant about something (Freud would say his mother).

Well, it clearly was.
I mean, rain + the correct lighting fixed to the huge crane that's on the Pinkpop site = rainbow.
Seems totally logic.
