Couldn't get to the end of this one due to new job.

So I'm liking not being at the end of my watched auctions more and more

7-Inches For Planned Parenthood Vinyl Box SEALED $69.00
https://www.ebay.com/itm/112878943875

But on that subject though - had to backtrack and um wasn't it $200 new...

Still a bargain but now still available on the site for $100.. that's half price right?

Yeah it was $100 plus postage to begin with.

BTW - this got brought to my attention yesterday I think.

aus.foofighters.com is now a shop with stuff on there - but it only delivers to AUS/NZ.

Which is a real shame because the spinner keychain is on there - the same one that they ran out of stock of on the UK store - which I never ended up getting even though had ordered one (did get refunded). Now know where that stock most likely ended up...

And my mint 1935 XZ-38 Disintegrator has a new friend - a 1946 U-235 Atomic Pistol

Same casting - with gold vs copper finish. Fully functioning (pop & flash) and set me back a quite reasonable $190 (even these later versions often go for a lot more)

Some interesting history...

* Daisy stopped making them for nearly ten years because all metal was needed for WWII
* They changed name to U235 Atomic Pistol because that's Uranium-235 and Atomic, after, well the thing that everyone was hyped about at the time... unless you were Japanese of course.

Buck Rogers's Atomic Pistol: The Gun That Won't Exist Until 2419
David Miller Jun 27, 2011 Technology

Before Captain Kirk, Han Solo or Buzz Lightyear, there was Buck Rogers in the 25th century with his fluted, flamboyant U-235

When you work in a room with over 10,000 firearms and weapons every day, people will inevitably ask, "Which is your favorite gun?" It's hard to pick out a single favorite when there are so many to choose from -- the answer might depend on a project I've been working on, a book I've been reading, a movie I've recently seen or even music I've been listening to.

But I can say with certainty that one of the coolest guns we have in the museum's collection was designed in 1935 but won't be issued for another 400 years. It may have appeared on the cover of the Foo Fighters' debut album in 1995, but it won't really exist until the year 2419.

That's right -- before Captain Kirk, Han Solo or Buzz Lightyear, there was Buck Rogers in the 25th century. His weapon -- prettier than the Phaser, more refined than the E-11 Blaster, cooler than whatever Buzz Lightyear uses -- was the U-235 Atomic Pistol. The gun has a fluted barrel, flamboyant fins and a gold finish; sparks light up the red "Fission Control Chamber."

Buck Rogers first appeared in 1928 in the science fiction magazine Amazing Stories. The next year, he debuted in the first science fiction newspaper comic strip, which was published until 1967. Buck's influence was widespread: he spawned his own radio show from 1932 to 1947, a short film screened at the 1933-34 Chicago World's Fair, and even a 12-part movie serial produced in 1939.

The fictional character's increasing popularity led to advertising premiums and merchandising, such as the U-235 Atomic Pistol that we now have in our collections. The toy came to the museum in 1978 as part of a large gift from the Daisy Manufacturing Company (the one that produced the infamous "Red Ryder Carbine-Action, Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock and a thing which tells time").

Back in 1934, Daisy had hit a home run by producing the first Buck Rogers metal toy ray gun, the XZ-31 Rocket Pistol. The next year, Daisy introduced another huge success: the XZ-38 Disintegrator Pistol, a ray gun with a new art-deco design.

When World War II came along, manufacturers did not use metals for toy production, and Daisy followed suit by producing 37mm artillery ammunition for the war effort and creating wooden pop guns for the home front. After the war, Daisy banked on the public's fascination with atomic energy and reintroduced the XZ-38 as the U-235 Atomic Pistol. It had come a long way since the first Buck Rogers ray guns that were cardboard cut-outs printed on the back of breakfast cereal boxes.

Along with the U-235, Daisy's gift to the museum includes BB gun models named after real and fictional people, such as Buzz Barton and Red Ryder. The gift also features two World War II-era wooden pop guns (some days, these are my favorites) and several other pop gun models.

I see some of the aus store merch is pick up at store only - seems to be when they are running low on items or sizes -ie almost sold out.

Yet I see no info on where said store actually is which is odd... I'm thinking it's all possibly a temp thing to shift the leftover AU concert merch.

But yeah - looks like thats where the frigging first keychains went - OH and not to mention the word that starts with T and ends with motherfuckingmissingtowels....

Anyway - I've bought you a keychain

They probably costed shipping it all back to the main store and worked out it wasn't worth it so decided to just try and shift it all as easily as possible wherever it's being stored.

Had they said it's been reallocated and they had no say in it then people would be annoyed but at least they would have told us all what had happened sooner .

Am still on a hunt for another London coin/Metro one - going to ramp up that search shortly so it can be done before the next US leg of the tour as no doubt there will be more in the next month or so...

And ta - should I pm you to arrange paying for it and whatnot at some point?

BTW this morning FNAC took payment from it being authorized a few weeks back - so that should be sent out in the next few days for the Blue C&G vinyl

I got an email and text to say they will deliver mine tomorrow! I am still abroad though so hopefully our next door neighbour will sign for it.

Yeah mine was meant to be delivered today as well - decided to get it sent to a pickup location as if something needs to be signed for then I never know what neighbours are in.

So will hopefully have mine by early next week.

DHL sent me a text yesterday evening that had a link to "manage delivery" - I clicked on it and it had 6 options:
  • service point or locker
  • change your delivery date
  • signature release
  • leave with neighbour/concierge/guard
  • alternate address
  • vacation hold

Basically decided on a whim to change it but means have to wait a few days extra to get it.

Might not be available after a certain time but that's what happened for me.
