That article isn't really an article is it? It's just some guy who uploaded a selfie of him and Dave.

And we all know Dave talks a LOT about a LOT of things. So I am not buying it.

Well, seeing as TCV seems super unlikely now. I'm really hoping the new album continues in the vein of St. Cecilia, in that it's just a collection of the best songs they have lying around, and that they record it in a relaxed way. No more concept albums please.

Yeah...maybe they'll finally use the Neve console from Sound City that they installed. They have yet to make an album in their own studio lol. It needs to be done!

I wish we at least had an idea of when they will start a new album or project. Doesn't even have to be specific. Something like Summer or Fall of 17'. Just give us something to look forward to!

I'm going to say earliest they get together to get to work on the next project is summer '17, and earliest anything comes out is early '18. That being said, the break seems more substantial than that so I'm not sure we'll get anything before 2018-19. That sounds so far off but it's really only a break of about a year and a half.

I hope we get a straightforward studio album next. As much as I loved the SH films, songs seemed to suffer a little bit from the whole concept thing. And of course I'd like to see more writing contributions from the rest of the band.

Whenever they decide to record again I really hope they would have the songs again, with less TV shows or other side orders. There´s been great songs here and there the last few years but I really miss the energy their records used to have back in the day - plus I miss the payoff the records gave as there was always more to discover on each listen. I still find new things on TINTL for example although I must have listened through it a few thousand times.

But while we´re waiting the new Cloud Nothings sounds awesome (I´m not affiliated in any way)

Yeah, totally agree. And I'd like to hear Chris and Taylor contribute vocals a little more, and Chris given a bit more leash for guitar solos. His solos are generally too low in the mix, in my opinion.

Producer-wise, Tom Dalgety (new Pixies album) would be interesting, not that I have anything against Butch - it's just time for something fresh.

In the NME article about the recent charity show -

"Meanwhile, Dave Grohl has reportedly been working on a new album away from Foo Fighters"

Butch made some sort of comment a while back about Dave writing songs, unclear if it was Foos or something else. I'm sure Dave's always writing songs, doubt NME knows any more than we do.
