Default Melbourne 1st Show - Lets start with All My Life!

What a farken night!
My feet are killing me, and I have no voice!

They opened the show with All My Life and with that, it just didnt stop.
A similar setlist after that which I cant remember right now. But they left out Bridges Burning because of the intro (which I didnt mind, but wouldnt mind hearing tomorrow).

Stade de AAMI was an awesome venue, but for the Foos, gimmie Festival Hall any day.

A few attempeted to jump on stage with a couple succeeding to reach Dave and get a hug. One bogan even got to talk to him during Daves Solo encore.
Not fair I say. Its always the one that dont give a shit about the show that end up on stage with Dave. Wish it were me.

The boys sound awesome, and anyone who complains about the extended/improvised jams during songs, doesnt understand music.
They were all jaw dropping.

The other bands were fun, but I might give them a miss tomorrow as my feet struggled with the 6 hours standing.
But Im happy to anouce that my bladder held out, so Im very happy with that. lol

Thanks guys, had a great night and cant wait for tomorrow.

White Limo
Arlandria
Breakout
Cold Day in the Sun
Stacked Actors
Walk
Monkey Wrench
These Days
This is a Call
In the Flesh
(Cant remember if there was a song after this)

Encore
Wheels (acoustic)
Times Like These (semi-acoustic)
Breakdown
Tie Your Mother Down

He probably knew who he talked to or recognized them from multiple gigs and the people that jump on stage are idiots. Nothing is stopping you from jumping.

What makes you assume that people aren't as big of a fan as you? I know you said you aren't a stalker but you have a, "he's mine!" attitude. We all love the guys.

Relax and just enjoy the show! Also, what the hell is a bogan?

A bogan is a chav, basically.

And my other half was in the stands and said there were major technical difficulties with the lights/screens during AML. I was very surprised when they opened with that, and wonder if it wasn't a SNAFU...

The setlist is missing The Pretender, Generator (yay!), Let It Die and Best Of You (rock version, yay!). And there was no Breakdown.

I'd forgotten how squishy Australian crowds are, my kidneys are only just sliding back in to place!

Hey watch it mate, I'm from Perth, and it's a city not a country, and I'm not that weird..really
Definition of a bogan - think AC/DC, mullet hair style, skinny black jeans, flannelette shirt and a pack of winnie blues (cigarettes) or winnie reds if your really tough, shoved up your t-shirt sleeve, black desert boots, they call girls "sheilas", drink Jim Beam, drive V8s and are still in existance. It's a lifestyle really. They are not all pricks. I've met some really nice ones.
Billabong is a brand of surfwear that is associated with "surfies", those that love to surf, they go out with "surfie chicks".
There is an Australian movie from the 70s called Puberty Blues that explains everything!

You're funny Jill. And I'd love to know what your beef is with me.!? But anyway, the guy who Dave ended up talking to was def someone there for a pissup more than anything else, and not someone who Dave recognised. The post by atay above will confirm that, just in case you don't want to believe me.

And if I jumped on stage you would've found a reason for calling me a stalker anyway, so I guess I can't win.
You should try reading my posts fully before replying. You migh find That I didn't say half the things you think I did.

And I did enjoy the show, I'm sure I said that too.

The guy who got to talk to stage during the acoustic was seated in front of me originally. He was running with a beer in each hand trying to get away from security but got caught by them and Dave called him up on stage. His friends in front of us called him on his phone a few minutes later and he had been kicked out of the venue.
The sound was awful where we were seated (not the Foo Fighters fault, the venue - the sound was fading in and out, bouncing off the walls maybe something to do with the open roof too). We were in Gold section - Level 1, row f, aisle 30 (which was on the side towards the back) so there was large groups of people going to the back of the venue running down the stairs straight past security and into the general admin area as they wouldn't be able to catch that many people at once.
We could barely hear the acoustic song Wheels at all so were entertained by the people trying to get into the general admin area and security failing to catch them. I even saw a security guard watching and laughing as another made it through.

We had a great time once again and they played all my favourite songs with so much energy

Thats disappointing to hear. I was GA last night just to the left of the control room thing in the middle had the sound was pretty good. A couple of the vocals got lost a bit though. Tonight I'm in the seats with my 10yo son. There's no way I'd take him into GA, he'd get smashed and wouldn't see a thing.

Hopefully the audio will be good and the screen faults will also be fixed.

Can't wait (although I will definately have no voice tomorrow...haha)

dunno,
but he's right
Stacked Actors was AWESOME as well as their other jams this tour and real musicians are the ones who revel and are glorious in this ability:
[Think Rush Live basically]

Also, go listen to this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At_Fillmore_East

These guys had 20 minute jams before the 'jam band' daze that never wasted notes- or sounded tame!

Simply put:
If you know what you're doin' then you can Rock on and on-
kinda like the Foos!

cheers
:>

No one who complains about the jams does so because they doubt the ability of the musicianship. It's because they see them as unnecessary and taking the place of potentially another song.

If they were all completely unique and totally improv, that would be one thing, but would I rather see a song i've not seen or the stacked actors jam again? Not really a contest. Doesn't mean I don't understand music and it's absurdly arrogant for anyone to suggest that.

Does sound arrogant after reading again. Sorry.
Maybe I shoulda said appreciate instead of understand.

I get what you mean that you could get more songs in there, but the Foos are so tight with their sound nowadays that it'd be like listeninng to a cd REALLY loud if they just performed the songs as is.

I always go to a show hoping for something different and IMO, These jams is what makes a live performance so much er
