Eek! Re: New Album back to basics

Holy shiat.

I'm in a good mood.

This is great news, I thought they were done, maybe. Hope they put some new piano and acoustic songs in this record, those are my favorites!

Well for my $$$ "There Is Nothing Left To Lose" is still the best Foo record to date.

I just watched the video where Dave and Taylor performed Rock and Roll with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, and it was awesome! It's sort of a super group comprised of my two favourite bands.

This may be a controversial opinion, but I see Foo Fighters as almost a modern day Led Zeppelin. Both bands have been quite experimental in their works. There are a few Foo songs that I'm not too fond of, and there are also a few Zep songs that I'm not too fond of. I don't consider them as bad songs, though - just songs that are not of my personal taste. Then there are also songs that I can appreciate, when I'm in the right kind of mood.

I really think the Foos should cover a Zep tune. I know they won't ever seriously cover Stairway to Heaven (which I'm not too fond of, anyway) - but I think it's be cool for them to cover, say, Over the Hills and Far Away. We have Dancing Days by Stone Temple Pilots and Good Times Bad Times by Godsmack, so I think it'd be cool for the Foos to also cover Zep.

Anyway, I trust Dave to continue providing us with awesome and entertaining music.
well if you don't know that.. then why comment on the word muscular. Oh and btw! yes! I can't see the comparison between led zeppelin and the foo fighters. But they have changed in there own way. Modern day zeppelin I would not of thought that myself.

LOL shut up. Seriously.. I mean what's the problem with that world!!

It could just mean the foo fighters are generally sounding more fluid in what there writing. A band like foo fighters, are getting better all the time with the exception of echoes silence patience and grace, the band is just growing better with time..

maybe that or it's there age.

LOL oh and I know your going to say it's just a lame and gay sounding word! everyone is entitled to there own opnions too you know.

Wink Re: New Album back to basics

If we're talking similarity in style, I agree that Wolfmother sounds a little more like Zeppelin than the Foos do. I do like Wolfmother, but not quite as much as the Foos. There is more originality and versatility in the Foos catalogue.

Anyway, while we all may have our preferences for what the new Foos album should sound like, we should just be happy that the Foos are recording new stuff. Whatever they decide to do, I'm looking forward to hearing it.

i agree with the led zepplin comparison...

only i see it as mr. grohl is hoping the foo fighters will become as legendary as led zepplin. as in lets do albums that arent as heavy and have strings and keyboards and such in them, and then 40 and 50 year olds will love us.

What the fuck are you talking about? haha

I just didn't get what it meant. I'm not saying 'it's lame', i'm not dissing your opinions at all, how did you get that from the tiny statement I made? I was just wondering why that word was being used so much.

That's hardly a description. You say everyone has opinions, but you are saying that the Foo's are getting better with age as if it's a hard fact, which makes them 'muscular'? Hmm..

All right, guys, to put a stop to the arguing - here's one thing I think we can all agree on! The Foo Fighters kick arse!

They do indeed!

I don't get the arguing, i'm excited as shit for this new album. I think everyone has very specific desires for it, and don't want to be told otherwise about how it will turn out

But seriously, i'm half expecting a studio version of Marigold around the time of the new album, even though i'd have prefered it to be recorded around ESPG.
