Smile Fan mail

I had no idea how I could send this fan mail... I tried to find some type of email address to no success so I registered on this forum to post it, also because I had no idea there was a forum! If this is considered taboo for the forum I apologize... but I really wanted to write the band.
So anyway, here is my letter I wrote, hope it gets through, and can't wait to see you guys play again!! You guys rocked the Cox arena in SD!

Foo Fighters,
I am an active duty U.S. Marine recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan. I have never written to band before or ever written anything like this before so I hope you bear with me.
I felt compelled to write you after the release of your newest album to express how much of an impact it has had on me. I’ve been in the Marines now for over 7 years. It always seems that while I am deployed you release a new album. In my last deployment in Iraq I was in Fallujah when you released Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace. Luckily a buddy of mine and I were able to get to the PX on camp Fallujah and get the album. It was a huge boost for us mentally and emotionally. I remember being ecstatic as we listened to each track and then watched the DVD Skin and Bones on which we bought at the same time, on a borrowed laptop.
But what I want to express most is about my last tour in Afghanistan. I just returned in October, and again your newest album, Wasting Light was released while I was away. Unfortunately, where I was, there was on PX or ANYTHING for that matter. A good friend from home attempted to send me an old Ipod Nano with the album on it, but it never made it. Mail had a funny way of never making it out to us. Immediately when my unit returned home, I purchased the album.
This last deployment was a little bit rougher than the previous 3. I thought by now I would be able to readjust quickly. But after everything that happened, that was not the case. What helped me keep my head on straight was your music, especially the song “Walk.” I’m not exaggerating; I am not over stating… The song seemed to fit perfectly as a reminder to me that I just need to readjust… or as it goes, learn to walk again. That it was a common problem to go through... I could never fully express how it helped me, but I hope this is at least an idea. I don't think I've ever been moved so much by a single song.
Thank you so much for continuing to be such an inspiration over the years. I love what you guys do and can’t wait to you again next time you come out west.

From a very big fan,
Sergeant Chris Dare, USMC

What a wonderful message!! It is amazing how those lyrics can be so inspiring. No matter what your situation, the songs seem to fit. That is a true artist. Walk and I Should Have Known pulled me through quite a bit this last year. Thank you for your service Chris!!

Now that's a damn good fan letter. Would love to get a mailing address for Sergeant Dare and ship him and his buddies a care package. Not sure if that's possible, but figured I'd throw it out there.

I almost didn't open this thread because I assumed it would be another lame request about how to get a special message to Dave asking him to play at a wedding.

Wow, you rock Chris!

He probably isn't logging back in, but in case he does: Hey MarineDude, I live by Camp Pendleton and I've seen a lot of Marines who don't quite get adjusted enough. Please try to get some help if things get a little tough. Take care of yourself and I'll get you a drink at the next SD show, ok? My friend will have to flirt with you first, though .
