Yes Grohl covered it, but it's not circulating.

Um, maybe because it's not his band?

Why doesn't Dave do Scream songs?

Well he's moved on from that, it's no longer part of his life.
I personally would be very disappointed if they did start playing Nirvana songs.

Hmm, box set possibility?

Me too.

Unless it was just Dave doing some drumming. Like an instrumental Scentless Apprentice.

well i mean i know its not his place to do so, but i mean he was part of the band, and i mean if he covered maybe some acoustic polly now and then i think it would sound pretty good, not to be disrespectful to nirvana or anything, im just saying

Sure it is. He just chooses not to. Audioslave does Soundgarden songs... Velvet Revolver does Rage & STP songs. Not much of a difference. Most likely Dave probably just decided to move on, but maybe someday he'll pull a couple of tunes out.

Have you ever noticed he seems to almost play that some of the times he gets behind the kit? He must be quite proud of that beat.

Bare in mind people, it was recorded before he joined or while he was in Nirvana, not sure which.

its a wicked beat. Its catchy. I like it. If I were Dave, id have t-shirts made up that say "i invented the Scentless Apprentice drum loop"

Id buy two maybe even three of these

i may be wrong but i believe he stole the scentless drum intro from somewhere.

And as for dave playing Nirvana songs im sure he just feels that was a completely different time of his life and would rather leave it in the past.

It's such a simple beat, I wouldn't doubt it. The verse part he stole from the Scream song "Mardi Gras."
