It was late at night, January 1995, during Pearl Jam's 'Self-Pollution' radio broadcast. Eddie was talking about having a tape that he'd gotten from Dave Grohl, then he said he was, "just gonna let these Dave Grohl songs roll..."! The two songs ended up being demos of 'Gas Chamber' and 'Exhausted'. I couldn't believe it... Being a huge fan of Nirvana, I was very excited to hear this new music from Dave. Of course, there wasn't a band name that had been made public yet,and I had no idea what the song titles were at the time. But, that didn't stop me from making a copy of the songs from the cassette recording of the radio show, exclusively for repeated listening (along with PJ's, Mad Season's, Mudhoney's and Soundgarden's live sets!).

Anyway, months went by, and I only had those two songs. Eventually the band name was announced. Everyone I told about Dave's new band always laughed whenever I told them what the band's name was... But whatever. When the release date for 'Foo Fighters' was made public, I made sure to check our local record shops for it the week of July 4th. Thinking that due to the association with Nirvana that there would be tons of copies and maybe even a display, I was surprised to find that only one of the stores in town had it... On top of that, they only had the ONE copy! Lol. Plus, none of the clerks had even heard of this band... It didn't matter much once I started to play the album in my discman, sitting in the backseat of Mom's car! As I listened through the album, I thought about how Dave had moved on. That Nirvana were truly over. Cuz, the whole year before that, all we ever heard about was Nirvana. It was almost as if they were never gone! But, this new band Dave had made me realize just how real Nirvana's passing was. And it also showed me just how talented Dave Grohl really is!

Anyway, there it is... 'Gas Chamber' and 'Exhausted' demos were the songs that got me into this band. Sorry for the excessive answer/statement, but hey, no one held a gun to your head to read it! lol

Times Like These. Heard the song on the radio. Got introduced through gradually hearing other songs as well. Finally went to Best Buy and bought TCATS and TINLTL right around the time ObO came out. FF will always be my all-time favorite band.

I think it was probably One By One. I remember listening to Jo Whiley play it on BBC Radio 1 coming home from work one night, probably just as it was released and just being blown away by it....then, I started to hear all this fuss about some song called Everlong, and how it was always being requested on the radio.................the rest, as they say, is history!

"Wind Up"
I loved computer game called ESPN X-Games Pro Boarder by Electronic Arts. There was an awesome soundtrack:
"Wind Up" by: Foo Fighters
"Leave You Far Behind" by: Lunatic Calm
"All His Suits Are Torn" by: NOFX
"Society" by: Pennywise
"Bloodclot" by: Rancid
"Kate Is Great" by: The Bouncing Souls
"Symptomatic" by Voodoo Glow Skulls
"Endless Journey" by: Pulley
"Da Strike" by: Millencolin
"Getting' Air" by: Chixdiggit
The best part was that computer game CD worked in a CD player as CD-audio!
First time heard Foos...felt in love Here I am!

Gonna be really lame and say learn to fly. I taped a music program here in australia called rage back in 2000 and it was one of the videos they showed. Must played it about 50 times that weekend. Then i went out and bought TINLTL. I was hooked.

Definately 'Floaty'. Was the first song i heard outside of my hero, everlong, and monkey wrench and it made me have to check out every other song that they had. Probably the most simple song in terms of structure and lyrics, but IMO, that chorus and bridge or watever u wanna call it is the most badass fucking thing ive ever heard. Wish theyd play it live =/

Mine's gotta be "Walking After You", I must admit.

I first listened to it 'cos it was part of The X-Files movie soundtrack, I think I was twelve years old or so. I had an English teacher who was a big Foo fan and she told me to get their debut album.

That's my story, so far

Baker Street. I know, I know... Back in the day, Baker Street was one of those songs that was just part of the collective consciousness. When I heard the FF version, I was like WTF? So, I bought TCATS and well, I've been a fan ever since.

All My Life got me hooked. I was about 11 when it came out and my jaw just dropped. One of the first CDs I ever bought! - Strangely I can't actualy stand listening to it now because it's been killed by the radio / kerrang TV!

This is a Call.
I still remember the day that i bought the single.
and from that day on i reminded myself everyday this:
-Foo Fighters Dave's new band is called Foo Fighters-
it was one of the hardest names for me to remember hahahahaha
the day i bought the CD a friend came by and said he had tickets to see the Foo Fighters.
it was the second time for me that i saw Dave perform, but this time he was behind a guitar and doing vocals.
but it was the same venue where i saw Dave perform with Nirvana.
till this day i never left Dave's side listened to all his musical projects and i will be doing that till the day i die!!!
