I started this thread for all collectors, and of course all other interested too, to keep tabs on which versions is available.
If you find any links describing other and it is confirmed please feel free to post them and I will update the first post to make a complete list of all version.
Im not gonna bother adding the digital releases, the focus will lie on and only on physical releases including possible singles of the album and RSD release Medium Rare.

I will also add all different countries it is pressed in when that information is available. I think it is safe to assume we will have at least:
*EU
*US
*JPN
*AUS
*MEXICO

Thanks!

hey, thanks a lot for this.

I wanted to contribute with information about possible brazilian releases, so I made a bold move and actually called them. at first the call was answered by a call center employee, then she redirected me to someone supposedly in charge if this kind of info, I asked "you're the one responsible for album release dates?" to which he replied "album release dates?!" as if I just called a pizza place to ask that. afraid of being mistakingly redirected I wanted to confirm "this is sony music, right?" to which he replied "yes it is", then I said "so how can you not know that?", he said "one moment please" and hanged the phone. I tried again 2 times, both straight to his machine.

it's not new the fact that I'm so pissed with how poorly handled the FF are here in brazil, but I didn't think it would be this awful, I was so pissed off I cannot put it into words.

anyway, thanks indeed for this thread, it will be really useful and I'll let you know if anything comes up in the future.

Thanks for the effort Felipe! Shame they are handled so badly though. Hopefully you guys in Brazil can change that!

You can add Mexico to the safe assumptions, they've pressed all the albums except self-titled I think.

No vinyl tho, just CD.

no problem!
yeah, I hope this changes soon. it was already a win when that Rope release list included brazil too. and of course Wasting Light will be released here, they all were (a couple of singles too), but not a single word on that yet and my attempt to come close to it resulted on the experince shared above.

Foo Info Tip #563

Don't ever ask the record company in your country about release details. They don't and wont ever make any money out of you directly. So in short they just don't care.

DO go to your best and biggest record retailer. THEY deal with those assholes and THEY make them lots of money out of their orders with them. THEY will be able to find out that information. In fact they need to know it to organize stock etc. So tell them hey I'm a member of this internet board and i might be looking to buy 20 copies, when does it come out, here's my phone number call me.

Sit back and wait for the info to arrive - if there is a release they will call back. Well its worked for me before anyway.

hahah yeah I guess I learned this one the hard way.

with my lack of success trying to talk to them, I sent an e-mail saying that I was a member of the official postboard and that info would be useful for people constatnly looking at the band's official website. also thought about saying I was a member of the press and talking to their PR, but it's too much trouble for something (I hope) we'll be aware of shortly. was hoping for an exclusive though.

and hey, I feel bad that only now I noticed your signature, I'm in a BAD shape since I'm constantly taking your advices into heavy consideration.

I only just noticed YOUR post - I have to stop taking my own advice - it's clearly not helping my reading

I know the purpose of this thread was not to focus on the digital downloads of WL, but I am curious about something and since I still do not have my LP in hand yet I want to ask.

I saw an LP (with digital d/l) on eBay for sale, and the guy described the digital d/l as being "cut from the vinyl recording". At first I thought he was nuts, but then I saw the label on an LP auction that clearly says just this.

So I am curious about the digital downloads that are being included with certain releases. I bought the deluxe package and have already downloaded the album via the link. Did "they" create all the digital versions of the album from a vinyl version of the album? Just seemed odd to me, and wondered if any in the know techie had any info on this.

I've just found some info about the Rope 12": It will include the deadmau5 mix and the album version only and it's out on May 2. Unfortunately I cannot post links, but you can find it easily on eil dot com.

I've seen at least one post about tracks being from one master and not another. I don't know the specific answer but Im sure someone will.

What I DO know is the overview of the process. The band records to analogue tape. They then have an analogue master source. That would be the direct recording out of the sound boards in the studio. They can then use that to master anything, but obviously a digital copy of it has to be made to get it onto CD. That digital copy can/could also then be cleaned up or normalized, or any number of other adjustments made to it.

So in theory any of LP, CD or Digital file could be made from a digital source, and that could have been close to a straight transfer or it could have been altered.

The analogue recording can be transferred directly to an analogue output medium directly - ie LP, but not the digital ones.

So it sounds like the various possibly sources may both have been used in different editions but I have no idea which is which except you can bet the true analogue reels were used for the LP DM master.

Just a final warning to all of you who want to try and get the Best Buy exclusive edition with the piece of tape. It now is listed as not available for shipping on the site instead of backordered. If you want to get a hold of this you will have to check the store inventory. Just wanted to bring it up in case people were procrastinating out there!

Nice thread - this will be useful. Cant get those us foo links to do anything though - they come up blank.

Question: If I collect ALL the special edition versions released... do I own the master tape? ehehehe
