Default The Complete Guide to Everything*

Does anybody listen to this podcast? There's a really cool story relating to the band on one of the episodes (College: Sophomore Year).

If you have an iPhone or iTunes I recommend listening to it, it's a pretty long story about half way in.

A note: There's some (VERY) slight derogatory remarks made about the band - if you can't handle it then DO NOT LISTEN.

No need for an iPhone or iTunes! Weird story, indeed.

CHRIST!!
a whole hell lot of "uuh...and then...I went...uuhh....(huge pause)...aaand..." before we get to the actual story that isn't even what I was expecting.

cool story though, it's always cool to know stuff that isn't out on the big media, but REALLY boring narrators, jeez...

Still works for me. Not that I can be bothered listening to it. What is the story?

Drunk Foos do a gig and play the songs of the first three albums in the right order. Then one of the two podcasters tells how he almost got beaten up by Chris.

EDIT: Your link doesn't work either (for me), Stud. This one worked, though.

Oh ok they must be talking about the famous 11/16/00 show then? Although they didn't quite play all three in order, weren't far off though.

This Is A Call • Big Me • I'll Stick Around • Floaty • For All The Cows • Wattershed • Alone + Easy Target • Good Grief • Exhausted • Weenie Beenie • Doll • See You • My Hero • Enough Space • Baker Street • War Pigs (part of) • Hey, Johnny Park! • Everlong • City Hall (part of) • Sex Supreme (part of) • Monkey Wrench • Everybody Wants You (jam) • Message in a Bottle (jam) • Have A Cigar • Won't Get Fooled Again (part of) • Next Year • Learn To Fly • Generator • Stacked Actors • Aurora

Just listened to it, interesting to hear a recollection of this show from someone who was there. Does explain why they did all those random covers and jams towards the end. I really hope the band release this show at some point in the future.

Well I know, but I was thinking about when they're done, not in the near future. It does seem unlikely though since it wasn't board recorded, but Dave has said it was one of their best shows, so did Beebe.

i'm all for it.

i've always wanted more official releases of live recordings.

Share what, the interview or the show? The interview is up there, the show doesn't circulate unfortunatly.

It's make you wonder, if they enjoy this type if gig so much why they don't do them more often. It's also kinda sad to think that they couldn't sit in a bar abs hang out with fans anymore, like they did at this show.

Well you have to bear in mind this was 2000, so they certainly weren't as big as they are now (certainly not in the US) and whilst they may not hang around the bar at shows like this anymore they usually chat outside the venue. I gather they eat pizza with some guys/gals here after Dingwalls for example.

As for doing them more often, well again I don't think they really can. They obviously don't make any money off a 200 - 500 capacity show so can't do a whole tour of them, and I think they need to be 'rare' for them to be special. If they did it all the time and did the rare songs it'd be just another show, not something amazing.

Just my thoughts.

Oh I know it's not their fault, they're far too big now. I think it just saddens me because that era of Foo Fighters is by far my favourite, but that's another conversation.
