I guess it's just curious that they've taken full ownership of the recordings once a presumed contract period has expired, because you'd think a brand would be interested in keeping something like that. It could well be that they've got something in these agreements saying that once they've held up their end, they assume total rights and can do with it what they see fit. I don't know how they got around that with Apple who have a tight grip on their content. Then with Roswell and Rhapsody, it doesn't seem like they got much for their investment in the end.

Happy Area 51 raid day from the Foos

Love it. Even if they probably shouldn’t be encouraging dumbasses

Loving Stacked Actors from the Roswell show. The improvised section was always so cool. I wish that they would bring it back into the live set like that again.

Has Walk from the Roundhouse, London, 2011 show been edited ? lol

Edited how? Sounds the same as the original EP to me.

The latest release in the series is putting in some Studio B-Sides from ESP&G along with a couple more live tracks. I forgot how good Seda is!

Yep but that article has the wrong song, that all happened during 'Skin And Bones'.

Dave and Taylor on Multishow (Brazil) re: the Foo Files:

"We had no idea that that was even coming out"

"Someone else is doing it. We're bootlegging ourselves"

So we're probably overthinking this numbering system and most of it means squat, if it's not intentional as far as the band goes.

Red = One of the funniest things I've read from the band ever.

Also, more subtle - when you line up the three file covers and flip through them at the same size, "0707" and "FF" white text are out of alignment with the other two. Struck me as highly unprofessional, though I threw it to it being web based.

Hilarious though, as if it WAS a bootleg, it would almost certainly look perfect in this day and age.

So why 00950025 in the first place? Will that just go down in the end as being as simple as the obvious 1995 for 25?

For a band that creates a web site and flight tickets and all kind of other intricate details for Frome, let alone control a myriad of other secrets in the last 10 years, it seems very half arsed to let this kind of thing live without full "central control", especially when it's "historically" endorsing (and then undoing) all that previous work in fans minds.

Or do we double down and just call double bluff?

New one released a little ahead of schedule - 01020225. The One, Sister Europe, Win or Lose, and Planet Claire.

Only Sister Europe is up for listening at this time. Though I'm sure all of us here on these forums have listened to all these tracks a zillion times by now.

Kinda surprised to see Win or Lose on there, I know it was released on the AML single but wasnt it recorded prior to the 1X1 era unlike the rest of this stuff? Normal or the other covers would have been better choices IMO. But yeah if this some sort of corporate semi-approved bootlegging deal I understand, would just be great to have that stuff streamable.

It was recorded in 2001 just before the first proper 1x1 sessions, originally for the 'Out Cold' soundtrack.

Does anyone think they will release physical EP's? Like maybe once they have released them all they will do a sort of boxed set of them? I think the Foos deserve the boxed set treatment.

I doubt they would release these specifically as a physical CD, they're a bit random. I think any bigger release would be more comprehensive and orderly.

If "00" is live recordings, and "01" is officially released B-sides (if that's indeed what the first 2 numbers are referring to), I'm wondering what potential "02" "03" onward could be...potentially a way of releasing some Songs From The Laundry Room-type unreleased stuff as we approach July 4, 2020?

I don't think that really works though, since they have a mixture of both on the last two.

What I think is more likely is that it's still an 'edition' number, for where there is more than one EP with the same start and end year, but they just decided to switch to 01 for the first one instead of 00.

The Pumpkins released a small 5 EP set for Mellon Collie, (The Aeroplane Flies High)

I'd love to see these in a sort of file cabinet box with each disc in a different "file"

wishful thinking I guess.

Oh I'd definitely like a physical release with something like this, don't get me wrong, I just can't see it being these recordings specifically. They're just so random in contents, it'd be strange IMO.

Now, a 10 or 20 disc box of Foo Files covering the full 25 years, that I would be down for.
