Default Jools Holland at the RAH, what are the chances?

So what do people think the chances are that the guys could play the Royal Albert Hall on September 21st?

Long shot I know, but Later with Jools Holland is celebrating its 25th year and I'm sure they'll want big names to play. The day is free in their schedule so far and it's around a week after the album release.

No confirmations of who is playing yet but I bought a ticket on a whim about 2-3 weeks ago as I enjoy the show and have always wanted to go to the RAH, so I've got my fingers firmly crossed now!

I did wonder about that - although the dates look blank around then, they won't be so it'll all depend on what's booked where in those weeks around the album's release. I could definitely see them going back to the US for talk show performance(s).

Yeah, I did think that too. Lots of promo appearances are bound to be booked in.

I can always live in hope!

I think Paul is bang on though, any sort of event like this is possible during the promo run, it's just a matter of them choosing what they want to do and what is possible. They may have already booked something for this day, they might not. They may be in Europe then, they may be in the US.

It definitely seems like something they would want to be part of if possible though, and works great as promo, so I think it's certainly going to have been on their radar/been asked by the BBC.

So long as they are in Vancouver either 1st September/12th then it's all good. Unfortunately I doubt this will be the case.

Ah well.

At the minute the show's social media says:
"We'll be back again with a new series in September and that special event at the Royal Albert Hall."
In past years the run starts in the 2nd week of September which opens up the opportunities for them being in the series proper (the week before or after Lollapalooza Berlin say), if not the RAH special.

So... Does the announcement of the O2 show for the 19th make this more likely?

I don't know, because there will be other UK dates in that week...whether or not they'll have the time to come back to London for this? who knows

"We've never played here actually. I've played here, with Them Crooked Vultures, but no, Foo Fighters have never played here". Word for word what Dave will say when he chats with Jools.
