Default What are you grateful to the Foos or Foo Board for?

I will start.

If it weren't for the Foo Board, I wouldn't have a good handful of the best friends a girl could have. I wouldn't have met Foo so many times, would have probably never gotten into a private/surprise show pretty much ever and wouldn't have gotten through some of the worst times in my life as easily.

Find a place to vent stuff I couldn't vent anywhre else. Although I havent met anyone, you guys always give great advice.

People care for others. There's a sense of comnunity, not just random people loving a band. It's like a cery frie dly koolaid cult.

A lovely sense of community where I can talk Foo without the eye rolling!

A place to nerd out without worrying that i'm nerding out too much. A reliable and valuable source of info and stories. Meeting like-minded folks. Merch envy.

I've met some pretty awesome people through here, and have gained some brilliant friends. Plus I think there's loads of music I would never have listened to without being here.

Many people to share the band with. Not Internet people, real people.
New people that I just met in recently (Aurora Grohl, Alex) and my "old" people mj, Lara etc etc.

The music that I hear on the radio can bring back situations, shows, vacations in an instant.

Who you calling old, bitch?

I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for the friends I've made thanks to this band. And the places I've been lucky enough to visit. They wouldn't believe it if I told them.

I've always liked the atmosphere of this board. The people here are rather lovely and always friendly, helpful and supportive.

When real life doesn't understand the level of nerdy, i know the board will.

And one more thing; i'm grateful for the old caption thread from YEARS ago. Anyone remember that? It was HUGE. Lotta giggles

I've been to more shows with someone on the other side of the world than I have been to with my own husband!!

On the rail, bitch!

I am grateful for the days when we used to learn about upcoming shows here first. Small shows, mostly. Especially the side gigs. It was great!

If it weren't for this board, I probably wouldn't know what Dave's toes look like.

This place brings a whole other level of excitement to anything regarding the band.

Love it.

Starting in late 2001 I was diagnosed with MS, I have since been "undiagnosed" totally symptom free. I had to do an intermuscular injection into my thigh once a week. I've never been afraid of needles, but at the same time, this is a long ass needle, the side affect of the drug were that the next day (usually do the shot on Friday night, so Saturday) was ruined for me, flu-like symtoms all day long.
I would put on a Tivoed loop of Foo FIghter videos that would make me chuckle, put me in a better mood, until I got up the nerve to shoot myself. This went on for about 2 years when I got a third opinon on the diagnosis and was "undiagnosed"

The band, music and videos helped me get thru a shitty time, and to cope with, what I thought was, an eventually crippling disease.

I'll be forever grateful to them for that.

Wow. Flashback.

I'm grateful for all that's been mentioned above. I know I can count on the people here for honest opinions an advice on pretty much anything. I hope we can rustle up enough Wrigley tickets so we can have a massive board meet up!

I joined the board when I was 13? I'd been such a big fan of the band with my mom for 3 or 4 years by that point. This really was the first place I could nerd out over something and share an experience with people who were even bigger fans than I was. I check this site at least once a day, even during downtime. Freaking out over what the secret of the new album would be was so much fun, collectively freaking out anytime a new demo is leaked, and getting the chance to attend several shows (and subsequently meet Dave & co) courtesy of the postboard is something I will never forget. This place fucking rules, and so do all of you.

I don't know if I knew that about you, Donna. <3

Just this past week, I have been going through some serious hell. Most of which I don't post about. But on the way to an appointment yesterday, I streamed the old 606 live show and it turned my mood around super quickly.

Never ceases to amaze me.
